The Russian Penal Code contains several articles, which in fact prohibit independent political activity and oppositional movements. These are Articles 280, 281, and 282. Previously, the activities proscribed by all these articles were qualified as minor or medium-grave offenses. Still, Russian courts routinely produced sentences for these "crimes," which included jail terms between half a year and 5 years. It should be noted that from the point of view of the international law, such things are not crimes at all but manifestations of freedom of expression and freedom of association as it is understood in civilized countries. It is precisely for this reason that Russians who get charged with such "crimes" and escape from the country cannot be extradited, and Russian authorities usually do not demand their extradition. Fortunately, the international law does not contain an article criminalizing thoughts and political beliefs.

Some legal terms mentioned may have different technical meanings than expected so using a legal dictionary might help, unfortunately not every term used in these documents has an exact legal definition which is pretty dangerous in itself because without an exact definition of "extremist" it doesn't really have a legally defined boundary, so technically there is no way to really know if your activities would be considered "extremist" in nature.

Of course, that weird ringing in your pocket or on your desk could magically dial the number of an authority figure so that you could make sure you pull the "extreme" back to an acceptable level.

Maybe some Russians should petition the legal councils to define all of the words they use, or request some kind of law that requires laws to only use words that are found in the legal dictionary. Everything from A to полосa

CHINA signed a landmark $400 billion deal Wednesday to buy natural gas from Russia. 
 
The deal binds Moscow more closely to Beijing at a time when President Vladimir Putin's relations with the West have deteriorated to the lowest point ever.

China's president also called for an Asian security arrangement that would include Russia and Iran and exclude the United States.

The 30-year gas deal, worked out during a two-day visit by Putin to China, gives Moscow an economic boost at a time when Washington and the European Union have imposed sanctions against Russia and Europe has threatened to cut its gas imports to punish the Kremlin over the crisis in Ukraine.

The agreement enables Russia to expand the market for its gas, which now goes mostly to Europe.

It "opened the door for Russia to enter into Asia's gas market," said Keun-Wook Paik, senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.

Politically, the deal provides "breathing space for Russia," Paik said. "Russia, and Putin, can demonstrate it's not completely isolated because of the Ukraine crisis. Russia has demonstrated that they have a very reliable strategic partnership with China."

U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew had appealed to China during a visit last week to avoid taking steps that might offset the West's sanctions against Russia over its lightning annexation of Crimea in March. However, American officials have acknowledged China's pressing need for energy.

The contract is "particularly important" at a time when Europe has threatened to cut gas imports and reduce its dependence on Russia because of the Ukraine crisis, Alexander Lukin, a deputy head of the Russian Diplomatic Academy under the country's Foreign Ministry, was quoted as saying by the RIA Novosti news agency.

"We will be able to show to Europe that we have other customers," Lukin said

Have to disagree a little. The US Jewish Lobby is large.. Klassen lived in an era where China wasn't a threat, nor was India. Both Countries are accumulating technology and wealth and are snapping up everything they can in Western nations :- Utility companies, University places, Accomodation.. If they don't get to our nations they benefit from Western outsourcing.

Form what I heard all the houses in the US that are going under the hammer inexpensively due to bank foreclosures.. the bloody Chinks are snapping them right up! They are white anting the places.. if they do they they'll make ZOG fall eventually. They have the ability to survive in low socio- economic conditions where we don't. This is the entire reason Australia banned Chinks from coming during the Gold rush days.. the only thing is now the greedy baby boomers want to retire so they sell the scum a slice  of our pie.. not caring if future generations have these "insect people" as over lords.

My dad was picked up by the Germans after being left for dead by Stalin's troops, and was taken to one of their field hospitals. When he felt strong enough he left with the help of peasants and made his way home ... For many in the West it may seem hard to believe, but Nazi occupation, despite reprisals, was better than being under Stalin. Because, for the first time, farmers could work the land free of the disastrous Bolshevik collective system, bumper crops were harvested. The Germans organized efficient food distribution. At last there was no starvation in the land.
