A tourist has been stabbed to death and two other people have been injured by a crazed man allegedly shouting "Allahu Akbar" near the Eiffel Tower.

The suspect, identified as a 26-year-old French national, is accused of launching the frenzied attack in central Paris at about 7pm on Saturday night.

1^st Victim
A German man was the first to be targeted as he walked past the knife-wielding attacker on the Quai de Grenelle, located just meters from the iconic tourist attraction.

The victim, who is yet to be publicly identified, was reportedly slashed in the back and shoulder and died at the scene.

2^nd Victim
The terrifying rampage then reportedly continued on the other side of the Seine River, where the suspect allegedly attacked a British man with a hammer.

It's understood he was walking with his wife on Avenue President Kennedy on the right bank when the suspect attacked him from behind.

"A hammer was used to hit the man over the head," a source told the Daily Mail.

"The Englishman was rushed to hospital, where his condition was later described as 'stable'.

3^rd Victim
"A third victim was also badly hurt in a hammer attack, said the source.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told reporters the suspect was undergoing psychiatric treatment and was under surveillance after being released from prison in 2020 for planning another attack.

Darmanin said the man who is yet to be identified by name was born in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-Sur-Seine and lived with his parents in the Essonne region.

The French politician added that after the man's arrest, he expressed anguish that "so many Muslims are dying in Afghanistan and in Palestine".
