TIWI Islander Cosmos Munkara is at the centre of a racial abuse storm after his first game for Longwood against Avenel in a Kyabram District Football League match in Victoria. 
 
Amazingly, an opposition player is alleged to have called the 18-year-old Bathurst Islander a "dirty, black, witchetty grub''. That's being polite about it all really

Munkara, a former Waratahs and St Marys junior and brother of Tiwi Bomber James Puautjimi, was playing his first game for Longwood alongside two other Tiwis — Jason Puruntatameri and Hector Tipungwuti.

Longwood coach Matthew Chilcott, a century goalkicker with Waratahs in the NTFL, is furious at the racist remarks allegedly aimed at Munkara during the third quarter.

"I'm really pissed off it could happen after the Tiwi blokes only got here the night before the game and we had (Norm Smith medallist and Indigenous Team of the Century member) Byron Pickett playing for us as well.

ESSENDON has revoked the membership of a supporter accused of making racist comments towards Australian of the Year Adam Goodes during Friday night's loss to Sydney at Etihad Stadium. 
 
Goodes was not aware of the comments until after the game and the fan was ejected from the ground by police after Essendon supporters reported the incident to stadium management.




Then the supporter claimed he heard someone say: "F*** off, Magilla the gorilla."

"I turned around and asked loudly, "Who said that?" An adult male replied in a cocky manner, "I did."

"I shook my head in disbelief. After all our club has done to combat racism on and off the field, this individual thought it was OK to refer to an indigenous player in such a manner. He changed his tune when I pointed him out to security.

"He (the abuser) ruined my family's night at the footy."

Bombers chief operating officer Xavier Campbell praised the actions of Essendon supporters who heard the comments and said the offending fan had since expressed deep remorse and accepted responsibility for his actions.

ST MARYS' three-time premiership player Justin Wilson has fired a salvo at what he calls Victoria's redneck bush football community. 
 
Wilson is still seething after 18-year-old Tiwi islander Cosmos Munkara was allegedly racially abused by an opposition player in a Kyabram Districts Football League match last month.

The veteran Saint has heard first hand, a series of racist comments on and off the field during his five-year involvement in Victorian country league matches.

"Some people just haven't grasped the concept of indigenous people and the reasons they come down south to play footy,'' he said.

"I've played in the Kerang (Central Murray), Mildura (Sunraysia) and Bendigo leagues and there are a lot of rednecks there that need to be hung out to dry and made accountable.

"It's confusing to me, because in the 11 years I've been playing in the NTFL I haven't heard a racist comment made despite the wide variety of different cultures that play the game here in Darwin.

"Yet in five seasons in country Victoria, two or three incidents that I know of have happened and obviously they continue to happen.

"They are behind the times down there. The fans should be banned like the players if they want to carry on like that.''

Wilson said it was a simple case of a lack of respect being shown towards the Tiwi players, who were desperately trying to make their families proud by playing football interstate.

"The Tiwi boys come down for the right reasons, not the wrong ones and that is to play football in conditions that are very cold and foreign to them compared to the Top End,'' he said. "It's hard for Aboriginal boys everywhere to cope with that and being away from their families, without copping racist comments on top of that.

FORMER Port Adelaide and Essendon forward Che Cockatoo-Collins is shattered after his oldest son quit the game because of a case of racial vilification. 
 
It comes as the game is celebrating its Indigenous Round.

Cockatoo-Collins, who played 85 games with Essendon and 75 with Port from 1994-2003, said the game has missed out on a potential top-10 draft pick after under-14 player Sachem turned his back on the game.

It has led Cockatoo-Collins to seek out legal advice, and the family is now considering making a complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission as well as the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland.

Sachem was racially abused by a boundary umpire in a club game, was allegedly called "nigger'' by the umpire and targeted with remarks from the official suggesting he should watch his back.
