Stan Grant shook with emotion and had tears in his eyes as he said his 'soul hurts' in a powerful goodbye speech after hosting his final episode of ABC's Q+A.

In a poignant message, Grant addressed his decision to quit the show after copping a barrage of vile racial abuse online.

But in an extraordinary move, the indigenous presenter apologised to the trolls who targeted him, saying: 'I'm sorry that I must have given you so much cause to hate me.'

Grant didn't address the ABC directly in his closing speech, but earlier appeared to take aim at the corporation for not standing by him, saying: 'I know that media needs to be better.'

After just 10 months in the role, the broadcaster announced last Friday he was taking leave after being subjected to 'relentless racial filth', and accused the ABC of 'institutional failure' after no one offered him support.

Speaking directly into the lens at the end of Monday night's program, he said: 'I've had to learn that endurance is not always strength.

'Sometimes, strength is knowing when to say stop. And to those who have sent messages of support - thank you so much. But I'll be OK.

He said in a column last Friday that he was stepping down after racial abuse which had ramped up since he appeared on coverage of King Charles' coronation.

Grant directly addressed those trolls in his speech on Monday.

'To those who have abused me and my family, I would just say - if your aim was to hurt me, well, you've succeeded,' he said.

'And I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I must have given you so much cause to hate me so much, to target me and my family, to make threats against me.

'I am down right now. I am. But I will get back up. And you can come at me again, and I will meet you with the love of my people.

'My people can teach the world to love. As Martin Luther King Jr said of his struggle, 'We will wear you down with our capacity to love all'.'

Grant said he was not walking away because of racism or social media hatred.

'I need a break from the media. I feel like I'm part of the problem. And I need to ask myself how, or if, we can do it better.

I guess now he's not so busy he'll spend more time in his solarium and get darker?!

The Albanese government has been forecast to lose its referendum on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament with a national poll showing support for it falling below 50 per cent for the first time

But new figures released on Monday night show the No vote on 51 per cent, leading the Yes vote which has dropped to 49 per cent, down from 53 in the previous Resolve Strategic poll for Nine newspapers.

The No vote is also leading in three states - Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia - as the country prepares to vote in the referendum on a date in the second half of the year still to be set.

The No lead in those states could prove crucial, as the Yes vote not only has to get above 50 per cent nationally, but also needs above 50 per cent in four of the six states.

In Queensland, 56 per cent of voters oppose the Voice, 52 per cent of South Australians plan to vote No and 51 per cent of Western Australians are opposed.

The largest Yes vote of 57 per cent was recorded in Tasmania, followed by Victoria on 56 per cent and New South Wales on 53 per cent. 

It is the third month in a row that the Yes vote has fallen - dropping from 58 to 49 per cent in that time - and comes just before a Senate vote on the wording of the constitutional change.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has vehemently rejected calls to alter the wording of the Voice proposal.

When asked in general about the proposal, the survey showed that 42 per cent of voters support the Voice and 40 per cent oppose it - with 18 per cent undecided.

But in a second question that only allowed a Yes or No answer and which used the exact wording the government intends to use, 49 per cent supported it and 51 per cent were opposed.

The Voice is a Joke! Nobody really knows what an Aboriginal is defined as! The body of Coons calling the shots will be selected not elected! Seems like a power grab for just a few Boongs?

This conversation needs to be had, not just that a bill on what defines "Aboriginal" needs to be actioned.

More beating around the bush from Labour! Just nonsense! I wish politicians would pass laws to help the country not ruin it! Everything is true, valid and needs to be addressed ! The Govt sweep it under the rug and are spending and are hell bent on the voice probably because the United Nations and Sorros are pushing them with this agenda.
