A 31-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl in an Aboriginal community
The man was reportedly taken into custody at around 1.30pm on Thursday afternoon and is assisting with police inquiries.

Northern Territory police confirmed they responded to reports of a sexual assault at a little after 6am this morning, saying the assault occurred at around 4am.

Residents of Bagot in Darwin's northern suburbs, in the Northern Territory, have said they heard a girl screaming in the early hours of Thursday morning. 

The girl was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital for assessment.

Bagot is the oldest and largest Aboriginal closed-community in the Northern Territory, with a population of about 400 people.

A community member has raised concerns around the scrutiny this alleged assault may bring on the community again

A 70-year-old man has been carjacked while unloading his car in Adelaide's CBD on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Wright St about 11pm.

Police say the man was struck from behind while taking bags out of his car, but it is unclear if a weapon was involved

He was treated minor injuries, while the male offender left in the stolen car, a blue 2005 Mitsubishi Verada sedan with SA registration XPU478.

The car was last seen heading towards West Tce.

Police say the suspect was wearing a dark-coloured shirt and black pants.

He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, standing at about 150cm tall with a slim build and a black moustache

A TAXI driver robbed at knifepoint has had his taxi stolen in a horror incident in Gray on Thursday morning.

The taxi driver was flagged down by a man at a service station in Karama about 4.30am before taking him to an address in Gray where the man allegedly pulled out a 20cm knife.

The man allegedly threatened to stab the driver and stole a small amount of cash before forcing the driver out of the taxi and driving off

The taxi was located in Woodroffe by Palmerston General Duties members about 5am.

"The alleged offender is described as a man aged 25-30, of stocky build, and of Asian and indigenous appearance. He was wearing light blue knee-length shorts or jeans and a multi-coloured round neck shirt," NT Police said

It's not the first time Ebatarinja has escaped from the facility after he fled in similar circumstances last September.

He has been behind bars for rape, armed indecent ­assault and exposing a child to an indecent film.

Ebatarinja absconded from cottage accommodation at the facility used to house serious sex offenders.

He has repeatedly disobeyed strict supervision conditions, including drinking alcohol, smoking ­cannabis, watching pornography and and sneaking his on-off girlfriend into the facility for overnight stays, the NT News reported.
