A GANG of teens*Bush niggers* smashed windows at two Darwin businesses and stole a bottle of whiskey from a supermarket.

Up to 10 youths were captured in the act on CCTV, with one throwing a rock through a window at Moil Supermarket, jumping on an ice box and climbing into the shop.

The youths also smashed a window at Pink Apple Hair.

Territory Duty Superintendent Kylie Proctor said five youths were arrested in the park behind the shops.

"At about 2am we responded to a group of youths who broke into a group of businesses at the Moil shops. Several police units including a K9 unit were on the scene quickly," she said.

"Five youths ranging in age from 12 to 16 were tracked and located a short distance away.

"One of the shop owners estimated the damage was $11,000."

A SCHOOLGIRL Criminal, Coon Kid, Castoff with a lengthy rap sheet who beat up and robbed another student at a bus stop has been handed a suspended sentence.

The girl, whose name is suppressed, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in the Supreme Court, more than 18 months on from the November, 2014, robbery.

The court heard that the girl, then 13, stole the stole the victims backpack, mobile phone and cash, after she and two friends followed the victim from Casuarina interchange to Wanguri.

Justice Judith Kelly said the violent robbery had left the victim emotionally and physically scarred.

"One of you punched her to the right side of the neck causing her immediate pain," Justice Kelly said.

One of the girl's accomplices kicked the victim in the face, before all three fled.

The victim was left with swelling, bruises and scratches.

Justice Kelly said the girl had previously been found guilty of aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle and breach of bail. The court heard the girl had rarely shown up at school until recently.

"Robbery is a serious offence made worse by the fact that you were in company and the victim suffered harm," Justice Kelly said to the girl, now 15.

"If you ... stop your offending you'll be able to get on with your life with a clean slate."

The girl was ordered not to consume drugs or alcohol, along with a number of other supervision conditions

Monkey in a Monkey Suit's Crime Spree

A TEENAGER monkey dressed up as a make believe monkey who broke into six Top End businesses while wearing a monkey onesie is on the run with at least two other accomplices.

The teen was captured on CCTV footage running through the Subway restaurant at North Lakes Shopping Centre wearing the distinctive monkey onesie featuring a tail and eyes on Wednesday night.

The teen's crime-spree began at the Subway and continued to Palmerston.

Strike Force Trident Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Jordan said the monkey onesie could be a vital clue in identifying the offenders.

"We are calling on the public for anyone who may have information, especially in relation to wearing a monkey onesie. Somebody out there has got to know who has a monkey onesie," he said.

Sen-Sgt Jordan said the teens stole small amounts of cash and alcohol.

"Firstly we had an unlawful entry at the North Lakes Subway where offenders wearing a onesie of all things have broken in and stolen a small amount of money," he said.


"From there we've had another five unlawful entries. One at Dominoes in Millner, one at the DBA basketball courts in Marrara. We've also had one at the Repco in Palmerston and the massage centre in Palmerston all within a short period of time."

He said police believe the six break-ins were linked and the suspects used a stolen blue Hyundai X35 during the crime spree.

"We are investigating them as if they are all connected and that they are the same offenders. We don't know who the offenders are at the moment but we are appealing for the public or anyone who has any information on who the offenders may be.

Sen-Sgt Jordan believed the suspects would continue to offend until arrested.

"I can't surmise whether they will keep committing offences but in my experience these people won't stop until they are caught."

Top-End Cops Victims of Boong Hate-Crimes

A DAYTIME assault in Alice Springs which left three police officers injured has prompted the NT Police Association to speak out about the safety of their officers.

"It's really disappointing to see yet another assault on one of our members," said the association's president Paul McCue.

On Tuesday, a female officer was injured when she intervened in an assault on a 30-year-old woman in a shopping centre.

The NT News understands she took a blow to the face.

"From my understanding the officers were on duty and heading to a lunch break," Mr McCue said. "But officers are always on duty."

Two other officers, one male and one female, assisted their colleague and were both also injured as they tried to take the offender into custody.

There is no official confirmation of how badly hurt the two officers were but it's thought a broken thumb and a shoulder injury were sustained.

A 15-year-old *ferral boong*was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assaulting a member of the police force and resisting police. "Police assaults are up, as a result of increased drug use and other factors and it's a sad state of affairs," he said.

Last month, Labor leader Michael Gunner told Parliament 270 assaults on police had occurred in the NT in the past year.

"The job has its inherent risks but no person deserves to go to work and be assaulted by members of the public," Mr McCue said. He echoed recent calls from the Queensland Police Union for mandatory prison sentences for assaults on police and emergency services workers.

"I think it's time our Government had a serious look at this and made the deterrent in the courts extremely high."

Monkey Masturbator Gets Banged Up

A "FURIOUS" masturbator who exposed himself in front of a nurse at Royal Darwin Hospital has been jailed for a month.

The Darwin Local Court heard Ross Yulidjirri was picked up drinking on the Esplanade on July 20, having been issued an Alcohol Protection Order on Christmas Day last year.

Prosecutor Daniel Warner Collins said Ylulidjirri was so drunk he needed to be helped into the paddy wagon, and was taken to hospital to sober up.

"He removed his penis from his pants and began masturbating furiously (at the nurse). She expressed her disgust at this and he began urinating on the floor," he said.

Yulidjirri blew 0.295 — nearly six times the legal limit for driving — several hours after he had stopped drinking.

The court heard Yulidjirri has 25 prior convictions for breaching alcohol protection orders. Defence lawyer Beth Morrisroe said Yulidjirri had no memory of the incident, and was ashamed of his actions.
