  A CHRISTIAN church in Alice Springs has had the words "Allah Akbar" scratched into their glass door and windows by a man who is alleged to have assaulted a security guard and thrown rocks at his car.
The phrase "Allah Akbar" is a poorly translated version of the Islamic phrase "Allahu Akbar" which means God is greater or God is (the) greatest.

A security officer saw a man allegedly scratching the front glass doors of the Desert Life Church on Undoolya Road in Alice Springs at 9.30pm on Saturday night.

The security officer stepped in to stop the 23-year-old man from damaging the doors further when police allege he assaulted the security officer.

Superintendent Travis Wurst said the security officer then went back to his vehicle to call police. "The security guard exited the vehicle, a short time later it is alleged the male attacked the vehicle by punching the windscreen and throwing rocks at it," he said.

Desert Life Church senior pastor Keith Ainge said the alleged offender was not known to the church.

"I think from our perspective we are treating it as vandalism, we are not looking at any religious connotation or involvement in it," Mr Ainge said.

However, he said it was possible ISIS's ideology had spread into the community.

"It easily could be, because (ISIS) is in communities everywhere," he said.

Mr Ainge said the violent videos depicting young extremists committing acts of terror was inspiring copycats.

"I'm sure it is, there is no question about it, you only have to read the newspapers," he said. He said he didn't know the perpetrator.

The church's Sunday service attracts 400 people a week.

"I think the main concern is the inconvenience and its cost," Mr Ainge said.

The 23-year-old was charged with assault a person and damage to property and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on April 9.

A FOURTEEN-year-old girl will face court after she and another girl allegedly assaulted three girls in two separate attacks on Darwin buses. 
 
Police said the two girls verbally abused and assaulted their victims, and stole coins from a bus driver during their spree on Monday night.

Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from Strike Force Trident said police arrested the girl at a home in Karama on Wednesday night.

"Two alleged offenders approached two students travelling on the bus, verbally abused them, and assaulted them," he said.

Sen-Sgt Stringer said to avoid confrontation, the two victims then moved to the front of the bus, but were followed and assaulted a second time.

"The offenders then ran from the bus, after stealing coins from the bus driver."

The same girls were allegedly later involved in a second incident on another bus.

"It is alleged they approached another victim, stole her phone, and ran from the bus.

"The victim followed the offenders and asked for her phone back. The offenders demanded the phone's PIN code from the victim and when she refused, she was assaulted."

The girl was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, stealing, and damage to property.

She was remanded in custody and will appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on April 7.

Sen-Sgt Stringer said police are looking for information on the identity of the second girl, described as of being of Aboriginal appearance, aged 14-15 years, shoulder length dark hair with blonde streaks, slim build wearing a purple singlet.

What's this ? Aboriginal teens running amok? I guess it is the white man's fault for driving the bus around in the first place and don't you know we all owe them stuff for living on "their land" . Some coins and a mobile phone should pay the tax for the evening?

A MAN labelled as a "danger to the community"  has been refused bail for allegedly supplying petrol (a nice term for a coon)to children. 
 
Prosecutor Richard Burton said Silas Maralngurra was charged for giving volatile substances to four teenagers, two as young as 13.

"This is a matter the court will view very, very seriously indeed,'' he said.

"This man presents quite a danger to the community."

The 22-year-old was also charged with stealing $6500 worth of goods and damaging property.

Defence lawyer Sandra Wendlandt said his alleged offending occurred in Oenpelli(coon place) when his family were away.

She said his family would now be there to keep an eye on him.

However magistrate Michael Carey said he could not give Maralngurra bail.

Mr Carey said the young man had severe cognitive disabilities and was "obviously addicted" to inhalants.

"I am not inclined to give him bail,'' he said.

"This is an extremely serious offence of its type.

"I have serious concerns about his interactions with young people and the petrol sniffing."

A DARWIN couple who stopped at McDonalds for dinner was allegedly attacked by a family-including parents and children - with glass bottles and windscreen wipers, in Coolalinga on Friday night. 
 
Rachael Sheppard, 22, said her boyfriend Colin Mcinerney was savagely beaten by a man, two teenage males and a boy "who appeared to be around nine or 10 years old" after he mistook the family for a carload of his mates and "waved".

"Colin hand gestured with his pinky like a wave as you do in the Territory when you see mates," Ms Sheppard said.

"Then we arrived at Maccas and pulled up and the same car came through the drive through and the man got out and started yelling at us and asking what the hand gesture was all about and going right off his head.

"We told them we thought they were mates but the older bloke just started bashing Col and stomping on his head.





   

"He even smashed a beer bottle over Col's head ... it didn't look good.

"I was yelling for him to stop and next thing you know three boys have jumped out of the back of their car and started bashing Col too."

Ms Sheppard said Mr Mcinerney made a run for it to the nearby Shell petrol station.

"The woman was yelling at me and started trying to ram me with their 4WD. I could touch the bullbars and was just crying because it was so scary.

"I was yelling 'stop' but then they all started chasing Col in the car.

"It was just mental."

Ms Sheppard said she called police then followed Mr Mcinerney to the Shell.

"The (family) caught up with Col and kept bashing and choking him," she said.

"Col wouldn't hit the teenagers so just kept telling them to go away but they wouldn't listen.

"They were yelling saying 'I'm going to kill you' and 'you've screwed with the wrong people'.

"The younger boys were grabbing windscreen cleaners and water bottles and even had a windscreen wiper off their own car that they were using to attack Col with."

Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said police were called to the "violent disturbance" around 7.15pm.







   

"It was confirmed that two groups were travelling in their respective vehicles in the rural area when they pulled up beside each other at a set of traffic lights," Supt Jorgensen said.

"One did a hand gesture to which another took offence.

"Both vehicles pulled over in McDonalds and a nasty altercation ensued.

"Most of the passengers in the vehicles became involved — including girlfriends and children.

"There were accusations of weapons being involved and one of the parties ramming the other's vehicle.

"The altercation progressed down the road to a service station when police arrived."

Supt Jorgensen said Mr Mcinerney and the 35 year old man and his 36 year old female companion were arrested and later released without charge.

"The males were conveyed to RDH for treatment to injuries suffered in the incident," she said.

Mr Mcinerney reportedly sustained heavy bruising over much of his body, a throbbing head, bloodshot and puffy eyes and was "hurting all over".

What white parents in their late 30's would be so viscious  over a hand gesture? By the way what white kids would bust off window whipers and  attack other people for that? What white people would try run other white people down over a hand gesture? Would a white person smash a beer bottle on another man's head  over a hand gesture?

AN alleged serial criminal has been arrested after police found a car he had stolen at a residence in Moulden. 
 
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the 21-year-old man was breaking into houses and stealing cars while high on ice.

He said the man broke into a home in Durack on March 28 and stole a Falcon ute.

"On Thursday morning, the alleged offender was observed driving the stolen Falcon utility around Palmerston," he said.

"Police later recovered the vehicle at a residence in Moulden.

"Located inside the vehicle was a bum bag containing 8g of crystal methamphetamine and a controlled weapon.

"Arresting this offender is a great result. Having people allegedly breaking into houses, stealing cars and driving around armed, while under the influence of ice is a major concern for police," he said.

The man was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful entry, seven counts of stealing, three aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges, possess trafficable amount of methamphetamine, two counts of fail to obey direction of police officer, drive dangerous, driving unlicensed, possess controlled weapon and escape lawful custody.

The young offender appeared in the Darwin Magistrates Court yesterday


You can bet he was a boong too! Considering the Gaol has 85% boongs in it.

A 24-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a woman at a remote West Australian indigenous community. 
 
POLICE allege she was involved in an altercation with the 38-year-old victim at Kalumburu on Sunday.

She appeared in Kununurra Magistrates Court on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court in Perth on April 29.

Police say their inquiries are continuing into the death of a 48-year-old man at the same community on the same day, and could not confirm if the cases were linked.
