A 24-YEAR-OLD man, allegedly responsible for throwing tools at passing cars in Coolalinga, is to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court.
Detective Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper said the man became intoxicated at a premises along the Stuart Highway on Sunday night and allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old man.
"It is alleged the offender then armed himself with a large wrench and a screw driver and walked out into the Stuart Highway and Virginia Road intersection," Det Snr Sgt Cooper said.
"The wrench was thrown at a passing Ford Falcon, puncturing a front tyre and causing damage to a front panel.
"The man allegedly threw the wrench again, this time at a passing Toyota Hilux, causing significant damage to a front right panel.
"Police allege the man then ran towards an oncoming road train whilst armed with the screw driver.


"Police attended a short time later and arrested the man, still armed with the tools."
He was arrested and has been charged with serious harm, endanger occupants of a vehicle and armed with an offensive weapon at night.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court today.



Hmm who in Darwin would get drunk and throw stuff and cars? Coons throwing stuff and passing cars is a national sport for them.

A POLICE officer is recovering in hospital this morning with severe facial injuries after he was struck in the face by a glass stubbie thrown by an alleged wife-basher.
Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said the officer suffered a broken eye socket, lacerations to his face, and had teeth knocked out after the man allegedly threw bottles at police after their arrival.
Police were called to One Mile Dam about midnight on Friday night after the man had allegedly assaulted his wife.
"When police arrived, the man began throwing bottles at officers," she said.
"One of the bottles struck the officer in the face ... so the TRG, Metropolitan police group and the dog squad were called in."
He was sniffed out and arrested a short time later.

One Mile Dam is an Abbo colony for Abbos only in Darwin.

TWO teenage boys have been arrested and charged 54 times over a rampant crime spree across Darwin.
NT Police duty superintendent Daniel Shean said the Palmerston pair, aged 13 and 14, began their weekend jaunt some time after 11pm on Friday.

The pair broke into several homes and allegedly stole three cars including a $120,000 BMW and broke into homes in Nightcliff and Woolner.

Police allegedly spotted the pair driving the BMW on Chung Wah Tce in Palmerston at 9.20am on Saturday.
The police gave chase but called it off for safety reasons.
Superintendent Shean said chasing a stolen car into the CBD at that time would have put the safety of the public at risk as that is when people are out shopping and there are plenty of pedestrians about.    But police put a description out and the car was reported abandoned near Casuarina Shopping Centre about an hour later.
Police found the boys walking around in the shopping centre and arrested them.
Superintendent Shean said the teenagers would now being held in police custody and have been charged with a total of 54 offences between them.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests and the recovery of stolen property is anticipated, he said.
A total of $196,000 worth of property was stolen during the spree, police allege.

DRUNKEN rioting has broken out in the "dry" community of Umbakumba with two axe attacks in a week and locals pleading for a greater police presence.
A government whistle- blower who cannot be identified as he would lose his job said the latest trouble broke out yesterday in the Groote Eylandt community, 700km east of Darwin.
He said up to four men stole a health clinic vehicle and drove to nearby Alyangula where they stole alcohol.
"There's broken bottles of VB longnecks on the road and they've been drinking," he said.
"All morning they've been walking up and down the road, yelling and screaming and fighting."
The man said people from the community had been drinking and began hooning in another stolen vehicle."People were skidding around doing wheelies," he said. Pretty soon the four-wheel drive tipped over.
"I heard the vehicle skidding, I heard a crash and I came out and saw it, right in front of the store."
The man said a teacher had been the target of a break-in the week before with drunken thieves smashing their way through a nearby school kitchen with an axe.
On Wednesday an unknown number of assailants armed with an axe allegedly carjacked a vehicle at a nearby mine site.
A worker at the Alyangula Golf Club, who didn't want to be named, said the men threatened the driver with the axe before stealing the vehicle.
The men then went to the golf club with the alleged intent to ram-raid it, and were caught on security cameras outside the entrance at 3.20am.
But they were disturbed by a man walking his dog at 4am.
The government worker pleaded for more police at the town, saying: "We have a police donga but it's only manned one day per week."
NT Police duty superintendent Louise Jorgensen said seven people had so far been arrested over the recent troubles with police still seeking two men aged 29 and 38.
Alyangula police were investigating the theft of a health clinic vehicle from Umbakumba on Saturday night and the theft of liquor.
Supt Jorgensen said that the two men were also suspected of stealing and rolling the vehicle in front of Umbakumba store.

FIVE teenagers have been charged with 52 property offences after they were allegedly involved in a $196,000 property crime spree.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the five youths, two 14-year-old females and three males, two aged 13 and a 15-year-old were allegedly involved in the crime spree over the weekend. 
"Strike Force Trident Detectives recovered all of the stolen property and arrested the youths hiding in residences in Gray and Wulagi." 
The teens were charged with a number of property offences including 12 counts of aggravated unlawfully enter dwelling, nine counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle and 17 counts of stealing. 
 
"It is quite concerning for us to have groups of kids running around at night breaking into peoples homes and stealing cars. It is surprising they have not injured themselves or others with this type of irresponsible behaviour."



  5 youths including girls clocked up this quantity of offences, since it happened in Darwin it is highly likely they are Abbos.

A MAN was allegedly struck with the blunt side of an axe during an incident at Alice Springs.
The alleged offender, a 38-year-old man, and a 44-year-old man were involved in a disturbance at a residence in Little Sister Camp at around 2.15am this morning.
Police said a 36-year-old man intervened and the offender allegedly struck him on the head with the blunt side of a small axe.
He was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
