Police release e-fit after a dog walker was sexually assaulted

Thames Valley Police say the sexual assault happened at around 5.45pm on August 14 in an open meadow close to Woolley Firs in Maidenhead.

The victim was walking her dog when she saw the suspect crouching in the overgrowth alongside the path.

She felt uncomfortable and kept walking towards a wooden gate, but when she got there she looked behind her to see the suspect walking towards her.

The suspect grabbed her jumper and tried lifting it up, causing the victim to scream. He then ran off in the other direction.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Peter Fitzer said: 'I am releasing this e-fit image in the hope that someone recognises the man depicted.

'If you recognise the man pictured or have any information that could help with our investigation, make a report online or call 101, quoting reference number 43230363229.

'Alternatively, for 100% anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.'

Hundreds of migrant workers have moved from an idyllic beach village after an alleged rape of a local teenage girl by a Samoan berry picker, and local anger about the sudden influx leading to mountains of rubbish and noisiness

Up to 400 seasonal pickers quietly packed up from Arrawarra Beach Holiday Park, near Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid-north coast, following outrage after the 17-year-old was allegedly attacked on a morning beach walk.

The man was detained after what police allege was an aggravated sexual assault.

Locals have not been briefed about what is happening in the small surf village, but Daily Mail Australia has confirmed a controversial operation housing hundreds of berry-picking workers on Pacific Australia Labour Mobility visas (PALM) at the tiny seaside town has come to an end.

The army-style dongas where the fruit pickers were crammed in 'like sardines' so they could pick berries at the nearby Costa Berries farm in Corindi have begun to be dismantled.

Local MP Gurmesh Singh, the state member for Coffs Harbour, said the 'vast majority' of pickers had been moved from holiday park 'back to their home countries or elsewhere in Australia.

Residents in the tiny village of Arrawarra were furious over a series of issues caused by the camp's sudden appearance.

They complained about the noise, mountains of rubbish, and drunken fights every fruit picking season by berry-pickers.

Mr Singh said the holiday park would revert to its pre-Covid operations, housing backpackers and surfing tourists.

On the farm, last week, innocent workers from Fiji and Tonga told Daily Mail Australia the alleged rape was 'sad' - but 'we just want to do our work then go back home'.

Despite the picturesque spot - Arrawarra was known as a hidden gem with a laid-back vibe, kangaroos on the beach and pristine surf conditions.

However, inside the picker's camp resembled more of a shanty town - with a Coffs Harbour City Council report last year revealing a safety inspector was 'blown away by the poor living standards' in late 2022.

Court documents state Rayan is accused of grabbing the buttocks of numerous women, with some having their genitals grabbed.

Over two nights in October, women alleged Rayan rubbed his penis against them, grabbed at their breasts and kissed their shoulders. 

One woman claimed Rayan attempted to kiss her on the buttocks during an alleged attack on October 14.

He said many of the victims had been identified from CCTV and contacted by police about the alleged offending.

Some were foreigners who had since returned home overseas and police will liaise with international authorities to get statements from them, he said.

'A large number of these people are not Australian citizens,' the prosecutor told the court.

Magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano agreed to give the prosecution three months to compile their brief of evidence.

Rayan remains on bail and will return to the court on May 10.

An immigrant who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl has been handed a meagre three-month jail sentence before he is set to be deported

Srikanth Jagilapu, 28, was sentenced in the Southport District Court after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12.

The court heard Jagilapu was alone with the girl twice after meeting her at a swimming pool in a building complex where he was holidaying in September 2021.

The girl followed the then 26-year-old into the pool's toilet before kissing her on the mouth and touching her genitals underneath her swimmers.

The court heard the girl's friends planned to film Jagilapu in the act after they didn't believe she had 'nearly been raped' during the first incident.

Crown prosecutor Jessica Guy said the 11-year-old yet again followed Jagilapu into the toilet block for about 10-20 seconds before retuning visibly distressed.

After telling her friends she had been assaulted in a similar manner, they held the toilet door closed to keep him inside before a member of the public came to their aid.

While Judge Deborah Holliday said he had not used any force in the assaults, she also described his conduct as unequivocally serious.

The court was told the incidents came after the group of girls had given Jagilapu fake names and told him they were 16 years old.

Judge Holiday dismissed Jagilapu's claims they had lied about their age as his defence.

'Even if that defence was available, (her) appearance, which was clearly one of a child, would mean (it) was not held on reasonable grounds,' she said, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Jagilapu was sentenced to just three months in prison for his crimes but was also handed a 12-month sentence with a two year suspension.

Judge Holiday said it was probable that Jagilapu would either be deported or sent to an immigration centre after completing his initial stint in prison.

A doctor has been banned from practising for two years after allegedly telling a female patient that 'your boyfriend is very lucky' during a breast examination and for 'inappropriate physical contact' with another female patient.

Dr Nathem Al-Naser was deregistered for two years by the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) following a hearing into his behaviour after allegations made by the Medical Board of Australia.

From a complaint made in 2020 the tribunal heard a woman went to the doctor, who owns and works at two general practices in Canberra, seeking a prescription for a contraceptive pill.

The tribunal found Dr Al-Naser performed a breast examination on the patient 'without taking procedural steps to ensure [her] dignity and privacy were respected and maintained'.

Vyleen White, 70, was stabbed to death in the underground carpark of Town Square Redbank Plains Shopping Centre, in southwest Brisbane, about 6.10pm on Saturday.

Her six-year-old granddaughter witnessed the horror attack and screamed for help as the knifeman fled in her grandmother's blue 2009 Hyundai Getz.

Ms White's stolen car was later found in Springfield Lakes and has since been seized by police to be forensically examined.

The group is described as a mix of adult and juvenile males who appear to be are African.

When asked what the motive was, Det Supt McQueen said: 'Sadly, the motive was to steal a Hyundai Getz.'

Detective Acting Superintendent Heath McQueen called for public assistance in identifying the four people who 'dumped the victim's vehicle in the street at Springfield Lakes (3KM/5Mins away), exited that vehicle and walked away'.

Supt McQueen earlier described the scene as 'very harrowing' and acknowledge that while Ms White's six-year-old granddaughter was unharmed in the attack, it will 'leave a scar on her'.

Five teenagers, aged between 15 and 16, have now been arrested and charged in relation to her death and alleged carjacking. Four have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and were refused bail on Monday. A fifth 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder.

The mother of a teenager accused of killing a 70-year-old grandmother has broken her silence to apologise - but insists he comes from a good family

Retiree Vyleen White was allegedly stabbed in the chest in the underground carpark of Redbank Plains Town Square, south-west of Brisbane, in front of her six-year-old granddaughter on Saturday night.

Despite reportedly handing her attackers her car keys, Mrs White was fatally knifed and the alleged group fled in her stolen car.

Five teenage boys - who all attended private school - have since been charged over the grandmother's death, including her accused killer, 16, who was arrested at a unit complex in Bellbird Park on Monday.

It's since been revealed he was out on bail for previous robbery charges at the time of the alleged stabbing.

Sources told The Australian that police last year opposed bail for the teen before he was later released

The teen is from a family who came to Australia as refugees from Sudan 16 years ago.

His shocked and apologetic mother had this message for Mrs White's shattered family and others impacted.

'Yeah, I feel sorry about that because it's so bad,' she told Nine News on Tuesday

'I'm sorry to the community because I didn't know that the kids do that.

She also defended her son and recalled how he called out 'I love you mum' as he was escorted away in handcuffs by police.

'My family is [a] good family,' she said.

The teenager was last year charged with stealing a car and three counts of armed robbery
