Forum Upgrade Complete

I have just paid $40 for the latest upgrade for Creator Forum Gallery. This is the final piece needed before a major upgrade to the latest version of the forum software. When I do the upgrade, I expect Creator Forum to be down for a few hours. However, it will soon return better than ever. The theme we currently use will have to be ditched, but I'm confident I can find/edit/build a new theme that is appropriate for Creativity.

Creator Forum Upgrade is now Complete. I don't know how long it will take for your computer or device to catch up to the finished look, but if you can read this, then you are at least using the new software.

There are still some things I'd like to change - but I always do that.

The forum should work better on all computers and devices. The forum theme and software are designed to run on the latest (as of 2023) PHP. That's Nerd Talk for the hidden engine that makes Creator Forum work.

If you think it worked alright before, and wonder why I had to upgrade it at all. The reason is, that's how the internet works. If I did not upgrade now, our webhost would have charged me an extra $10 a month for running old software with an old PHP/engine. Then in about twelve months, Creator Forum would switch off completely. That's why it's my job as Church Admin to keep on top of things like this.

And yes, there are things I'm not happy about as well, but do get over it. You at least didn't have to work until 2 and 4am for the last several days trying to figure it out and get it sorted.

Take a look at the attached example image. The picture details are not perfect, but if you can see what I can see, then you are up-to-date.

If you see what I see, but don't like it, click on the Black Sun if you prefer a slightly darker/Night version of Creator Forum. That is your only option.

I struggle for time, but from what I've seen at a glance - I like the new format!  The red kinda reminds me of VNN forum, and I still don't know much about it's creater - Alex Linder who quickly banned me from it forever.  VNN forum to my knowledge has always been up, and that might be a telling sign.  I do know that Linder has worked with another South African activist who I've posted for and will not name.

The red at the top section is just because I could keep the red and blend it with the black. It doesn't matter to me, as long as it matches the main website, and remains close enough in design to the two older versions.

The first lasted until 2014. The second lasted until last week - 2023. We are now using the third major forum upgrade - which means the third template. All were very much alike.

The only WP forum that has been up longer than Creator Forum is SF - but only because they originated in the pre-internet Bulletin Board System/BBS days and moved to the WWW/World Wide Web in 97.

The WCOTC website began in 97, Creator Forum began in 98. I took over when the original was removed by the JOG in 2002. From then on I have always tried to keep the main website and the forum looking at least similar.
