Donald Trump on Tuesday called Somali immigrants "garbage" and said they should be sent back home in a rant that came as the administration is reportedly increasing immigration enforcement against undocumented Somalis in Minnesota.

In a xenophobic rant during a cabinet meeting, Trump went off on Somalis and Ilhan Omar, the congressional representative who is from Somalia and is a US citizen. He said Somalia "stinks" and is "no good for a reason".

Of all the Presidents who might have been persuaded to become a Creator I sometimes feel Trump comes pretty close. He's not great on Zionism and some issues but I suspect that deep down, like Nixon, he has tendencies which lend themselves to Creativity. If I heard someone express these exact sentiments in daily life I would consider them an appealing prospect for missionary work, that's for sure!

Court evidence obtained by CBS has revealed how the scammers behind the largest COVID-era fraud scheme flaunted the wealth that they stole from taxpayers.

At least 78 people - 72 of whom are Somali - have been charged in connection with the illicit plot, which involved the federally funded nonprofit group Feeding Our Future.
More than $250 million was stolen from April 2020 until the nonprofit was disestablished in January 2022, with only about $75 million recovered so far.

Exhibits from one of the case's recent trials, reviewed by CBS, included damning videos, pictures and receipts indicating where the funds went.

Defendants stayed at a private villa with a private pool at Radisson Blu Resort Maldives, CBS revealed.

Embezzled funds were also used to purchase a lakefront property in the City of Prior Lake worth $567,100 and to pay for first-class flights to Istanbul and Amsterdam.

They bought several luxury cars, including a 2021 Porsche Macan, which has a base price of $52,100, and wire transferred money to China and East Africa.

Co-conspirers were also said to have sent brazen texts to each other, flaunting stacks of cash and their luxury lifestyles, according to CBS.

Among those involved was Abdimajid Mohamed Nur, 24, who has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay about $48 million in restitution for his role.

He was convicted of being one of dozens who were funneling hundreds of millions of taxpayer money, much of which investigators are still trying to locate.

'A lot of money has been transferred from the individuals who committed this fraud,' Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CBS program Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan on Sunday, adding that a lot 'has gone overseas.'

Abdiaziz Shafii Farah, 36, was another scammer who was convicted for the complex operation. Last month, he learned he would spend 28 years behind bars.

As one of the scheme's ringleaders, he used his restaurant, Empire Cuisine & Market, located in Shakopee, Minnesota, to aid the operation.

Empire Cuisine & Market had a contract with Feeding Our Future to make meals to give to the hungry kids.

He and others charged for this specific illegal initiative billed the state for $47 million, claiming that he served 18 million meals, although that was far from the case.

Documents reviewed by CBS revealed that he made six wire transfers worth more than $1 million to Chinese banks.

In one text exchange, he told someone to send $1,000 to Mogadishu Bakara, a market in Somalia that was once controlled by an al-Qaeda affiliate, al-Shabaab.

The market was the site of the harrowing Black Hawk Down incident in 1993 that left 18 Americans dead.

Much of Farah's spending came down to excessive luxury buys, including multiple cars, property investments and notably a flashy trip to the Maldives.

In a video reviewed by CBS, Farah was seen popping a celebratory bottle of champagne at a private pool villa in July 2021.

Another image obtained by the outlet depicts rose petals in the shape of a heart on a hotel room bed, with leaves spelling out: 'Happy honeymoon.'

The judge in his case said at the time of his sentencing that his actions were driven by 'pure unmitigated greed.'
