DeSantis to spend $5M on reelection ads to court Hispanic voters

Gov. Ron DeSantis', R-Fla., reelection campaign plans to spend over  $5 million in ad reservations directed toward Hispanic voters for his  2022 reelection bid.

DeSantis' campaign ads will target Spanish speakers in Florida's largest cities, Orlando and Miami, to communicate the governor's "Keeping Florida Free" policies to Hispanic voters.  Fox News reported that this is a crucial step for the governor since he won 44 percent of the Hispanic vote in the 2018 gubernatorial race. Nonetheless, DeSantis' approval rating is up among the Hispanic  community, signaling the governor could take the victory with the  majority of the Hispanic vote come November...  The poll reported his  favorability at 46 percent in March 2022 compared to 39 percent in  December 2021. Multiple polls confirm that the governor's overall approval has increased  since last fall. Most Floridians, 58.8 percent, approve of DeSantis'  job performance, according to the latest St. Leo University Polling Institute.  DeSantis is favored to win his reelection bid as he currently holds a commanding lead against all his opponents.
