Extract: OSCAR-WINNING actor Susan Sarandon is well-known for supporting liberal causes, but helping Hillary Clinton become America's first female president isn't one of them.

Not even the fear of Donald Trump winning the election is enough to make Sarandon support Clinton's run for president.

As polls tighten between the Democratic nominee and her maverick Republican challenger, Sarandon has endorsed Jill Stein, the fringe Green Party nominee, according to the Stein campaign.

"Fear of Donald Trump is not enough for me to support Clinton, with her record of corruption," Stein's website quoted the New York-based actor and activist as writing in a letter.
