Philadelphia police initially said four people lost their lives but they later reported that a fifth victim has been found.  ABC News reports  that of the five dead victims, at least four are male and three of them are between the ages of 20 and 59 years old.  The two wounded children, ages 2 and 13, are in stable condition.   Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw described  the suspect as a 40-year-old male. He was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying an AR-style rifle, a handgun and a police scanner.  The commissioner said she has "absolutely no idea why this happened."

Excerpt: The Philadelphia gunman who left five dead has been unmasked as a cross-dressing Black Lives Matter supporter who made chilling Facebook posts about 'evil spirits.'

Kimbrady Carriker, 40, shot dead four men and a 15-year-old boy in the Kingsessing neighborhood on the eve of the Fourth of July.

He is in custody and facing multiple murder charges after rampaging through the streets with an AR-15, a handgun and wearing a ballistic vest.

In May 2020, Carriker posted a video to his Facebook of a burning Philaldelphia police car that had been daubed in graffiti with the letters, 'ACAB,' which stands for 'All Cops Are B******s.'

He was also using a police scanner in an attempt to stay a step ahead of the cops but was ultimately backed into an alleyway and surrendered.

On his social media pages, Carriker regularly posted about supporting Black Lives Matter, including his support for workers who protested in the Strike For Black Lives in July 2020.

He had also shared images of items of clothing with phrases like: 'Know this we are many they are few. To fear death is a choice and they can't hang us all.'

'Thank God our officers responded as quickly as they did. I can't even describe the level of bravery and courage that was shown,' Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said.

Outlaw said at a news conference that all of the victims of the mass shooting were male, including the two-year-old and the 13-year-old. A mass shooting is defined by the FBI as an incident in which at least four people are murdered with a gun.

The total number of victims increased overnight and police said a fifth victim was found four hours after the shooting when a man returned home and found his 31-year-old son dead in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds.

The commissioner said she has "absolutely no idea why this happened."
