And these are only the muds getting caught (which will most likely be released into the interior of the country). I can't imagine what the number is of the illegals able to sneak across the border undetected.

Two Large Groups of Migrants Apprehended in RGC

www.cbp.gov

RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents encountered 251 migrants in two large groups.

Yesterday morning, RGC agents encountered 110 migrants after they illegally entered the United States east of Rio Grande City, Texas.  The group consisted of 94 family members and 16 single adults. The migrants are from Central America.

About an hour later, RGC agents encountered another large group of migrants that illegally enter the United States just west of Roma, Texas. This group consisted of 65 family members and 76 single adults.  Agents determined the migrants are citizens of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Ecuador.

Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents continues to experience an influx of migrants crossing daily into the United States. Unlike previous large groups seen by RGV agents, neither group had a single unaccompanied minor and one group had more single adults than family members.  This is uncommon, as most, if not all of the large groups encountered this fiscal year have been primarily family members and unaccompanied minors, with a very small fraction being single adults.

Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.  The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.

Migrant encounters at the border surpass 1 million for the year. June's numbers reach 188k

Rebecca Morin

USA TODAY

WASHINGTON – The number of migrants encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border reached a yearly high in June, according to new statistics released by Customs and Border Protection on Friday.

CBP encountered 188,829 people attempting to come to the United States through its southern border last month. That is a 5% increase from May, CBP said, where 180,641 individuals were encountered.

June's total is the highest monthly number of encounters by CBP in at least two decades. June’s numbers mean CBP has encountered more than 1 million people so far this year.

President Joe Biden’s administration has grappled with an increased number of migrants coming to the border. The Biden administration has undone many of former President Donald Trump's immigration policies, but has kept Title 42, a policy that allows CBP to expel undocumented migrants to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in holding facilities.

The majority of encounters were from single adults, which totaled in at 117,602. CBP encountered 55,805 family units, 15,253 unaccompanied children and 1,155 accompanied children.

The Biden administration has previously attributed the increase of migrants to past migratory trends, as well as Trump’s hardline immigration policies.

CBP said 34% of the encounters in June were people who had at least one prior encounter in the previous 12 months. Between 2014-2019, the average one-year re-encounter rate was 14%, CBP said.

In past years, encounters began declining in the summer time, as it’s hotter and more dangerous to travel. However, the encounters increased this year from May to June. In 2019, for example, encounters decreased from 51,862 in May to 43,180 in June.

CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller warned in a statement that amid the summer heat, CBP is seeing a high number of distress calls by CBP “from migrants abandoned in treacherous terrain by smugglers with no regard for human life.”

“Although CBP does everything it can to locate and rescue individuals who are lost or distressed, the bottom line is this: the terrain along the border is extreme, the summer heat is severe, and the miles of desert migrants must hike after crossing the border in many areas are unforgiving,” Miller said in the statement.

Number of attempted crossings at southern U.S. border hits 21-year high

The numbers were the highest since March 2000, when more than 223,000 immigrants were stopped by the Border Patrol at the southern border.

July 16, 2021, 2:40 PM CDT
By Julia Ainsley

WASHINGTON — U.S. border agents stopped more than 188,000 immigrants trying to cross the southern U.S. border in June, marking a 21-year high in monthly border crossings, as the Biden administration considers lifting Covid-19 restrictions and allowing more immigrants to claim asylum in the U.S.

The numbers were the highest since March 2000, when more than 223,000 immigrants were stopped by the Border Patrol at the southern border.

Of the 188,829 border crossers in June, nearly 105,000 were expelled back into Mexico without being given the chance to claim asylum in the U.S. due to the government’s use of Title 42, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authority used to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

More than 188,000 migrants were picked up at U.S.-Mexico border in June

Media reports have indicated the Biden administration has drafted plans to end the policy by July 31, and some, including Chief Brian Hastings, head of the Border Patrol's Rio Grande Valley sector, have said the end of the policy could spark a rise in migration.

Some of those expelled under Title 42 are returning and have thus been counted twice as border crossers, according to the data released Friday. Thirty four percent of people stopped in June had attempted to cross at least one other time in the past year, as opposed to the average 14 percent re-encounter rate documented between 2014-2019, according to Customs and Border Protection data.

The number of children crossing the border, both with their parents and without, increased in June. Unaccompanied children rose by 8 percent from May, while the number of families rose by 25 percent over the same month. Unaccompanied children crossing the border have presented a challenge for the Biden administration, as they have not subjected children to Title 42 expulsions and must shelter them before they can be matched with sponsors.

The warm temperatures, often soaring above 100 degrees Fahrenheit along the border, have concerned CBP officials.

“We are in the hottest part of the summer, and we are seeing a high number of distress calls to CBP from migrants abandoned in treacherous terrain by smugglers with no regard for human life,” said CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller.

So repeat offenders are the reason for our high numbers at the borders according to this article. Which maybe true, but I doubt it with Biden's catch and release program in place. If we would ship this illegal mud races to an island instead of releasing them on the Mexican side of the border, that repeat offender problem would be greatly reduced.

https://www.elpasotimes.com/story/news/2021/07/23/us-mexico-border-crossings-repeat-attempts-increase-el-paso-sector/8062414002/

Unauthorized U.S.-Mexico border crossings in El Paso driven higher by repeat attempts

www.elpasotimes.com

Unauthorized border crossings dipped slightly in June in the El Paso region but remain elevated as migrants respond to rising U.S. labor demand and a pandemic-era policy continues to stoke repeat crossings.

The U.S. Border Patrol's El Paso Sector — spanning West Texas and all of New Mexico — logged 21,500 apprehensions or encounters in June, up from 3,876 during the same month last year. The June number fell slightly from 22,220 crossings in May.

In the first nine months of the fiscal year that began in October, the El Paso Sector registered 135,326 apprehensions or encounters.

That number is nearly four times the 34,845 apprehensions and encounters made during the same nine-month period in fiscal 2020, when migration plummeted amid a global pandemic.

In its operational update for June, CBP said the high number of expulsions during the pandemic "has contributed to a larger-than-usual number of migrants making multiple border crossing attempts, which means that total encounters somewhat overstate the number of unique individuals arriving at the border."

Under a public health law known as Title 42, invoked in March 2020 by the Centers for Disease Control to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in border holding facilities, border agents have been quickly returning most migrants to Mexico or their home countries.

The agency labels the people processed under Title 42 as "encounters" rather than apprehensions.

But apprehensions and encounters so far in fiscal 2021 in El Paso Sector are below the 155,775 people apprehended during the October-to-June period in fiscal 2019.

That year, tens of thousands of individuals, families and unaccompanied minors sought asylum and refuge at the U.S.-Mexico border; many of the adults and families were pushed back into Mexico to await U.S. court hearings under a now-discontinued Trump-era program known as the Migrant Protection Protocols.

There were fewer repeat crossings at the time, before the pandemic, when the U.S. government still routinely prosecuted unauthorized repeat crossings, a felony.

Unauthorized crossings are up across the Southwest border, from California to South Texas.

Border Patrol reported more than 1 million apprehensions or encounters in the first nine months of fiscal 2021, compared to 260,061 during the same period in fiscal 2020.

Thirty-four percent of more than 188,000 encounters in June 2021 were individuals who had at least one prior encounter in the previous 12 months, compared to an average one-year re-encounter rate of 14% for fiscal years 2014 to 2019, according to CBP.

Of the nine Border Patrol sectors along the Southwest border, the Rio Grande Valley has had the highest number of apprehensions or encounters this fiscal year, with more than 331,000 unauthorized crossings, followed by Del Rio Sector with more than 149,000.

The rising number of unauthorized crossings is leading to an increasing number of distress calls to Border Patrol, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Acting Commissioner Troy Miller.

In a statement, Miller said, "Although CBP does everything it can to locate and rescue individuals who are lost or distressed, the bottom line is this: the terrain along the border is extreme, the summer heat is severe and the miles of desert migrants must hike after crossing the border in many areas are unforgiving."

US Southern Border: The Forever Surge to Forever Purge America of 'Whiteness'

BIDEN WARNS BORDER PATROL 'PREPARE FOR RECORD SURGE,' AS DEMOCRATS BOAST ABOUT WHITE MINORITY

The First Page of this Topic has been updated with the following Notice:

Admin Note:  A Forever Surge to Forever Purge America of Whiteness - This topic was originally called Muds at the U.S. Border. Since the 2020 election of Joe Biden, there has been a surge of illegal aliens forcing their way across the US border. The Biden/Obama administration/regime calls this 'A Surge.' We call it the 'Forever Surge' of Muds, because that is what is not only intended, but is boasted about by the O'Biden regime.
