On the rise: Damon Knowles (pictured) is accused of wielding the knife that left grandmother-of-nine Carmen Rivera needing 30 stitches in her face after an attack on the 6 train at 7.15am on January 26. It is one of many attacks that allegedly occurred in the last few months.

Another slashing: Ras Alula Nagarit is pictured at his recent arraignment in a Brooklyn, NY court. He allegedly slashed a woman at the Atlantic-Ave-Barclays Center 3 train platform last month 

Grandma: Carmen Rivera returns home to the Bronx. Ms Rivera was the victim of a slashing on the subway that left a deep cut on her face
