A MAN *black bugger*who allegedly attacked two backpackers and stole their belongings in Alice Springs has been arrested by police.

The 20-year-old is believed to be one of two people who robbed and attacked the backpackers at 5.30am on Traeger Ave earlier this month.

The victims' backpacks, which contained personal items, cash and electronic equipment, were stolen.

Superintendent Helen Braam said one of the alleged offenders was apprehended on Sunday after trying to flee police

I have to give the guy credit though, what an ingenious way to make a public service announcement!?  I wonder if he said " my wifi contains voices of dead people and can offend some Aboriginal viewers." If they still would go nuts? I'll bet they would with their primitive "Me want 'em , me get 'em .. if me no get 'em HULK SMAAASH!" sort of attitude.

...And now there are vigilante groups in Palmerston who are disgruntled with the courts giving the abos lame sentences and having them return to cook up more trouble.
Taxes are paid in expectations the trouble makers will be dealt with. They shouldn't need to make a vigilante group!

[ABOS ARE BLUDGERS WHO CAN'T LOOK AFTER THEIR KIDS]

A MOTHER and son suspected of using a racist slur for their home wi-fi network – a signal that popped up in homes down the street – were targeted by indigenous neighbours, who wreaked havoc on their house in drunken retaliation.

The signal read "ABOS ARE BLUDGERS WHO CAN'T LOOK AFTER THEIR KIDS".

Darwin Magistrates Court heard bad blood existed between the pair and their neighbours, Damien Boxer and his wife, for several years leading up to the attack at the house at Moulden, in Palmerston.

Boxer admitted violent conduct, trespass and property damage.

Magistrate Greg Smith told him: "That someone chose to use this (slur) as their wi-fi signal is disgusting.

"No doubt it caused you monumental offence – you were under the influence of alcohol and lost the plot

AN ELDERLY woman who was the victim of a home invasion and threatened with a machete wants to leave the Territory because the Department of Housing won't give her a new house.


Rita Fisher, 72, has lived in her two-bedroom public housing home in Moulden for 15 years and was left traumatised after her three intoxicated neighbours Box monsters allegedly hurled death threats and bricks from her gate, smashed her front sliding door with an electrical fan, a walker and a paver, hit her dog over the head, and entered her house with a machete on November 23.

"They were standing there at my gate yelling, 'I'm going to f***ing kill you, you old c***'," Ms Fisher recalled.



Police arrived at the scene that night and arrested one person who lived in a DoH house next to Ms Fisher's.

She said the incident, in which her 44-year-old son and carer protected her, left them both mentally and emotionally upset, and she was left with little option but to leave the Territory.

"We're packing up and moving interstate," Ms Fisher said. "We're losing sleep, all of the dogs are barking from parties on the street, we don't know if someone is coming into the yard."

Fugitive AnimalJeffrey Ahwon has been caught 20 days after escaping from Darwin Correctional Centre.


Ahwon, 19, was arrested at a Woodroffe unit by Northern Territory Police this afternoon without incident.

Police received a tip-off from a member of the public.

Ahwon has been returned to the Darwin Correctional Centre at Holtze. He has been on the run since February 5, with guards not noticing he was missing until he failed to present at morning muster the following day.

NEIGHBOURS have told the NT News they heard screams from the street at 11pm near where a man's body was found in Darwin Tuesday night.


NT Major Crimes detectives were yesterday investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man boong, whose body was discovered in a laneway on Milkwood Crescent in Karama.


Police set up a crime scene at the location on Tuesday night, where blood stains remained visible on the bitumen yesterday.

NT Police have charged a 26-year-old*COON* man accused of committing an armed robbery with an axe at the Karama Shopping Centre on Sunday.


Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland from Strike Force Trident said the man entered a supermarket in the shopping centre and allegedly stole a can of deodorant and soap.

"When he was approached and challenged by staff, the man lifted his shirt and produced an axe," he said.

"He then walked through the shopping centre, hitting an ATM with the axe and yelling at members of the public."


Police attended the scene and arrested the man, who was found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis.

The man was charged with multiple offences including aggravated robbery and causing damage to property


Bloody dumb boong! Who else would go out and do an armed robbery with an axe for soap and deodorant. He probably needed the deodorant to chrome with ... the soap? well matter how much soap the coons have they'll stink!

Two men have been charged after two houses were broken into in the Tennant Creek area last week.


The men, aged 18 and 26, are accused of stealing food and alcohol from a Maloney Street residence on February 19 before the older male allegedly stole alcohol from another house the following evening while the occupant was asleep inside.

The 26-year-old was observed in possession of two wine bottles nearby the property and was caught after a short foot chase before admitting his involvement in the previous day's break-in.


The 18-year-old male was arrested later that night for drink-driving before he was identified as the co-offender in the February 19 unlawful entry.

The 26-year-old was charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful entry, four counts of stealing and two counts of damaging property.

He will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today along with his alleged co-offender, who was charged with damaging property, aggravated unlawful entry and stealing.

A WOMANBoong is fighting for her life after suffering a crushed skull during an attack with a hammer.


Emergency services were called to the Abbott Community on South Tce in Alice Springs at 1am.

Territory Duty Superintendent James O'Brien said the woman was taken to hospital and would be evacuated to Royal Adelaide Hospital this morning.
