Former rocker Angry Anderson told Andrew Bolt on The Bolt Report that he believes in the policies of the Australian Liberty Alliance party, which do not support Muslim immigration.

Anderson said "the more people of Islamic faith come here, the greater percentage of that and it's only a small percentage we understand that, of militants, and, but they grow," he said.

He stood by the party's plan for a moratorium on Muslim immigration, which would allow us to have a "five to ten year buffer zone", so "we can all meet together and get them to be part of the solution".

"We need the silent majority of people of Islamic faith to have a voice over the violent minority," he said.

"It'll give us all the opportunity to learn from each other."

On the Australian Liberty Alliance's website, their police {sic} titled 'Stop the Islamisation of Australia' states:

• "These proposals include a 10-year moratorium on all resident visa categories for applicants from member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Exceptions shall apply to the humanitarian intake of persecuted non-Islamic minorities from OIC countries.
• "Further, we will require for accredited Islamic organisations in Australia to accept formally the supremacy of Australian law and universal human rights over Islamic doctrine and Sharia law. For example full face coverings in public spaces shall be prohibited.
• "We will seek to prevent the implementation of any aspect of Sharia finance, Sharia courts and the influence of local or foreign Sharia councils over Australian institutions, our economic system and our supply chain. Among the proposed measures is the mandatory labelling of products and services from companies that have taken out halal certification, the implementation of the 'user pays' principle for halal certification schemes and an end to religious discrimination in Australia's secular organisations."

THE number of women who have reported being sexually harassed or assaulted at a German music festival last weekend has risen to 26, police said on Tuesday.

The mostly young women, who between them filed 14 criminal complaints, said they were encircled and groped by groups of men in ways that recalled mob attacks at chaotic New Year's festivities in Cologne.

"The women have reported that the (perpetrators) appeared to be men from the South Asia region," police said in a statement after an initial 18 women had reported assaults.

Police said three Pakistani men aged 28 to 31, at least two of them asylum seekers, were arrested at the four-day open air event, called the Schlossgrabenfest music festival, in the western city of Darmstadt.

A MASS vehicle break-in at Parap overnight Sunday has renewed calls for the CLP to fulfil their 2012 campaign promise to fully fund 120 additional police officers.

NT Police Association president Paul McCue said yesterday the number had still not come anywhere close to being met and Territorians were feeling the effects.

"It demonstrates there's not enough police on the beat," Mr McCue said of the recent break-ins and other criminal outbursts. "While you have in excess of 60 police tied up doing bottle shop duties out of Darwin, you've got hot spots that aren't being attended to.

"The promise was 120 additional police by August 2014, that clearly has not happened."

Mr McCue said that according to annual reports, police numbers are down and funding for police staffing is down year over year.

Malarndirri McCarthy says she's prepared to encounter racism after winning the fight to succeed Nova Peris at the top of Labor's Senate ticket in the Northern Territory


The journalist, former Territory government minister and Yanyuwa Garrawa woman was one of five candidates for preselection after Senator Peris quit last week.

Ms McCarthy is currently based in Sydney, isn't a paid Labor member and isn't yet enrolled to vote in the NT.

She held the Territory seat of Arnhem from 2005 until the Country Liberals took power in 2012.

"(I did endure) unfair, unnecessary accusations of being a woman, being a black woman and never ever really looked at in terms of my qualifications and the skills that I brought," she told reporters in Darwin on Tuesday.

Her comments came a day after a NSW man was charged with racially abusing Senator Peris online.

"I'm conscious that stepping on the national scene that obviously (racism) is out there," Ms McCarthy said.

NT chief Minister Adam Giles said the senate hopeful had a lot to answer for after leaving the child protection portfolio in shambles in 2009.

"We're still rebuilding child protection after she was the minister," he said.

But Ms McCarthy said she came at the senate job with much-needed experience.

"We have far too many children, particularly indigenous children, across this country being removed from their families," she said.

"We have to get it better. We have to get it right."
