Americans have the ASPCA, Australians have the RSPCA. The R stands for Royal.


Hey Cailen,

We bet you've been wondering – what's your gorgeous new dog's backstory?

Where did they come from? What did they survive before arriving at our doors and meeting you?

Each year, nearly 2,500 dogs and puppies come into our care across South Australia, every one of them desperate for love, support and a wonderful new home.

These canines may be surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them.

They may have become lost and, because they're not microchipped, we have no way of reuniting them with their family.

Or they could be babies born to an un-desexed stray dog – unwanted or accidental pregnancies sadly happen too often when animals aren't desexed.

Additionally, many animals in our care are saved by our rescue officers or seized from cases of cruelty and neglect by our animal welfare inspectors. (Did you know RSPCA is the only animal welfare charity in SA that has both a rescue and an inspectorate arm?)

         
So, your very own fur-baby likely came from one of these places.

And truly, it's only thanks to the compassion of people like you, who choose the adoption option, that any of these animals can be rehomed and given a second chance.

Choosing to adopt saves animal's lives.

Cailen, you made a wonderful decision two weeks ago – to adopt, rather than shop.

While it does appear this body is doing a wonderful job to the general population, I want to say I have beef with them!

In remote Boong communities there are packs of stray dogs and cats roaming about that these Boongs do not care for well and abuse.
I have heard stories of kids grabbing dogs and throwing them to crocodiles for kicks, belting them up etc.
I have heard of puppies being eaten by their parents as they were that hungry and that thirsty the dogs dig fir water.

There are cross breeds of dogs Vets have never seen as it's a complete free for all with Dingoes thrown in.

This body does not want to know about what goes on in these places because Boongs are a bloody "Protected species". White people that have gone there to work feel sorry for the dogs and try take them home, but if they are caught they get fired/banished from the place. How is this justice?!

If this body is serious they should give the Boongs a kick up the bum! Being land that the niggers have under Native Title, they just can't come around to do that though! Police are even chased off the land with guns and spears if they try to enter. It's a lawless land that takes up about 75% of Australia's mainland and surrounding islands. NO WHITES ALLOWED!

I've even been told that the Boongs get $ from the state to have dogs as "companionship"? 800K Abos in Australia get $37 Billion Taxpayer dollars thrown at them each year under all sorts of schemes and scams. The dog "companionship" scam is just one of them.
