This would be great hobby. wish i lived in the South of Australia...then again..all those snakes! the money would come in very useful for Creativity.

Ah, Ballarat in Victoria; it all makes sense now. The area was a known Gold Rush region during the nineteenth century. If I lived in that area, I'd also have a gold detector and spend my free time prospecting for gold.
...But you're handy with the pendulum? Why metal detector?

Metal detecting is good fun. Always went out with my dad looking for Roman stuff and just came back with old coins if we were lucky, usually just found old tin cans. Somebody always finds something good.

Thinking about it I reckon it sparked a lifelong curiosity in archaeology and race. I've passed that on to my own kids and had some great days out in the process.
