Austria's Kurz vows 'no stop' to deportations of Afghan asylum seekers after policewoman assaulted

Austria's Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has pledged to continue deporting asylum-seekers back to Afghanistan, after a police officer was attacked at a detention center in Vienna.

Incidents like this show why there must be no stop to deportations to Afghanistan.  A 28-year-old Afghan national, who was detained at a Vienna police station pending deportation, had punched and kicked a female police officer, and shouted misogynistic insults at her. The man was ultimately subdued after other officers rushed to help. The policewoman was treated for injuries to her hand and neck.   Wednesday's incident came after Austrian police arrested three Afghans suspected of involvement in the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl earlier this month. Two suspects, aged 16 and 18, are asylum-seekers, while another, aged 23, has had his protected status revoked as result of three convictions, including a one for robbery. The shocking case has reignited debates on the treatment of asylum-seekers in Austria. ... Kurz responded by saying that he opposes "any form of recasting perpetrators into victims."  ... "To speak about a 'racist diversion' is a mockery of the victims and a slap in the face to bereaved families."

Hundreds of African males forced their way into the Spanish enclave of Melilla on Thursday morning... More than 230 illegal aliens successfully reached European soil in the latest siege of the autonomous city, one of two controlled by Spain on the African continent. Video footage of the blitz shot from the Moroccan side of the border was shared on social media.

Men using hooks and wearing shoes fitted with screws scaled the border fence en masse, overwhelming Spanish security forces.  At least 238 sub-Saharan Africans entered Melilla, but some sources indicate the number could be much higher. Three Spanish officers and at least 17 migrants were reportedly injured during the early morning melee. African migrants apply constant pressure to the borders of Spain's autonomous cities of Melilla and Ceuta.  Large groups of illegal aliens frequently attempt to rush border fences surrounding the enclaves in hopes of reaching Spanish soil and eventually being moved to the European continent. Approximately 10,000 migrants stormed into Ceuta in the span of mere hours in May.
