Title: Reopening Old Sydney Town Theme Park? Not With Today's Snowflakes!
Post by: Rev.Cambeul on Sun 22 Apr 2018
'Convicts' being flogged, kids locked in stocks and a burial at the end of the day: Nostalgia is driving the campaign to rebuild 80s excursion favourite 'Old Sydney Town' - but would the gritty theatre pass today's PC school boards?

* Old Sydney Town was opened by prime minister Gough Whitlam in January 1975
* The theme park on the NSW Central Coast represented Sydney from 1788 to 1810
* A highlight of the experience was watching 'convicts' being flogged by 'soldiers'
* Children were encouraged to put their heads, arms and legs into convict stocks
* The park closed in 2003 after six million visitors had passed through the gates
* Since closing 15 years ago, Old Sydney Town has been left to gradually decay
* The land is now for sale and supporters hope Old Sydney Town will be reopened

6 million people passed through the gates and it shut?! Sounds like a 1940's theme park they open for tourists in Poland >:D
