The mother of two indigenous children who were allegedly cable-tied by a burly tradie fought back tears as she recounted begging to be allowed to give her children water.

Shocking footage posted to Facebook showed a girl, six, and boys, seven and eight, in tears with their hands tied together outside a home in Broome, Western Australia, on Tuesday afternoon

Daily Mail Australia earlier revealed that air conditioning installation boss Mat Radelic, 45, was the tradesman at the centre of the viral video, filmed in the suburb of Cable Beach.

He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault by Western Australia Police on Wednesday. He will face court on March 25.

Rowena, mother to little Stuart, seven, and Margaret, six, said the man's alleged actions were a 'disgrace' and that she asked him in desperation if he had children of his own to consider how they might feel in a similar situation.

'Standing behind a fence and seeing my children tied up like that it was emotion like "what can I do?" we just had to wait for the police,' Rowena told A Current Affair.

'He had no feeling or anything for my children crying there. My boy was crying for water and I couldn't even get him a water.'

Rowena, who struggled to speak through tears, said she begged Radelic to release her children but was 'afraid' of him because of his size.

A Current Affair Host Allison Langdon was so upset by the story she wept herself.   

'I've got tears right now thinking about it, Rowena,' Langdon said.

She later added: 'Rowena, I can't imagine what I would have done in a similar situation if they had been my kids.'

The distraught mother said her son had suffered a nightmare and also had a 'scratch on the right side of his hand'.

She also questioned the possible double standards in the legal system.

'If it was the other way around, if an Aboriginal man was holding three white children, like that, and saying to the families, you can wait until the cops come, if he goes to court, the Aboriginal man... he would have been gone,' she said.

'They would not even let him out of prison. He would have stayed in prison. They would not give him bail. They would have put him off maybe for kidnapping.'

In video footage obtained exclusively by Daily Mail Australia, Radelic can be heard complaining to the person recording him: 'They are on my property.

'It's not the first time - six times [this has happened],' he claimed.

However, Rowena told the program that it was actually not the man's property.

Regional WA Acting Assistant Commissioner Rod Wilde said a neighbour called police at 1.35pm on Tuesday after noticing the children swimming in an 'unoccupied' pool.

'About 10 minutes later police received a call from a male person who [allegedly] said he had restrained three children for causing damage in that backyard,' Commissioner Wilde said.

'Police attended and located two children at that time - one had left - who had [allegedly] been cable tied at that premises.'

Police will allege a fourth boy had also been in the pool but managed to flee and alert family members to what was going on.

A woman, who is related to the little girl and the seven-year-old boy, livestreamed the shocking ordeal and said the tradie refused to let them go.

'When we tried to walk in there to get them he pushed me and my mum out of the yard,' she told the West Australian newspaper earlier on Wednesday.

'When we pulled up there, and when that man was pushing me out of the gate... the little (eight-year-old) boy snapped the cable ties with his hands and then he just jumped over the fence and ran down the road.

It was just upsetting, we were so angry with (the tradie) just shouting at him, telling him to let them go but he just didn't want to listen to us.'

The relative said Radelic kept saying he was 'waiting for police' to arrive.

She said one of the kids also claimed the man told them he was going to 'hit them with a big stick'.

St John Ambulance paramedics assessed the children, who have since been reunited with their family.

After officers arrived at the property, Radelic was taken into custody and interviewed.

His company's webesite has been taken offline after it was bombarded by one-star Google reviews in the wake of the incident, and the business phone is switched off.

Daily Mail Australia understands the home where the alleged incident occurred was put up for sale recently.

You can't protect your home against Coons or even restrain them adequately until the cops show! You're expected to tolerate trespassing and technically home invasion from these hunter gatherers!

We are sick of the sense of entitlement these boongs have and the fact they get additional benefits and rights at our expense.

It's 4am in Alice Springs and a gang of young men in a stolen ute is attempting burnouts in the middle of town.

The young driver isn't having much luck pulling off a burnout but that doesn't stop him careening wildly through roundabouts and across pavements.

When they notice The Australian taking photographs, they start making gang signs and set off firecrackers.

The baseball bat is a sign of an unwelcome but increasing trend in crime in the Territory. In the past five years, offences against the person have jumped by 37 per cent; property offences by 53 per cent.

Police have been particular targets of the violence, says NT Police Association president Nathan Finn, with an upsurge in offenders deliberately ramming police cars with stolen vehicles.

"This type of violent, reckless, dangerous offending is escalating, and our members want to know what is being done to ensure their safety," Mr Finn said.

Yet in the past 10 years, he says, only 20 more police have been employed

"The NT government has absolutely no idea what our members face day in, day out, and the senior police executive can only operate with the finite resources it has," Mr Finn said.

Even judges and prosecutors have become victims.

One judge has been the target of multiple burglaries; recently, a local Crown prosecutor packed up and left town after being robbed in daylight on the street near her office.

Houses are attacked with golf clubs, assaults are carried out on joggers. Shopping malls have been left ghostlike. Store owners lock their doors even when they're open.

Little more than a year ago, a national spotlight was placed on the town amid fly-in visits from Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton, but the intense focus was vanishingly brief and the town is again awash in grog.

No one is surprised to hear that Mr Albanese, Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney and Opposition Leader Mr Dutton, are all visiting again – and few expect anything to change.

Locals will continue to live in a state of constant hypervigilance.

Many homes are equipped with CCTV and motion-activated lights, but that does little to deter the gangs in search of cars to steal – including mine.

During several months reporting from Alice Springs over the past year, this reporter has sometimes stayed with baker Darren Clark – a fierce advocate for his town since violence and crime exploded following the lapse in intervention-era grog bans.

Last week, I was asleep, along with the other people in Clark's house, when a group of boys discovered the back door hadn't properly locked. The boys knew what they were looking for, ignoring my camera equipment and homing in on the car keys.

My rented Nissan X-Trail was gone; so too Clark's Toyota.

"There's so many of these young gangs now," Clark says. "They're not scared of a camera being on. If they don't leave a print, they can't be identified by their faces {because they all look the same}. They know they can't be charged."

For the past few years, Clark has been living in daily fear of burglary and violence. "I'd rather they steal my car, instead of waking up to them in my room, which has been happening more and more," he said.

"The amount of stories I've heard where people have had machetes held to their throats and (their keys) being demanded, I've always left mine out on the bench in plain sight. You're always on high alert, when we hear a noise or the dog barks or growls.

"You're always on edge."

The tragedy is that it is not only the victims of crime in grave danger. Late last week, local Aboriginal families were plunged into mourning after an 18-year-old youth died when the stolen Toyota HiLux he was riding in rolled and crushed him. It was stolen from a caravan park on the outskirts of town, driven through a boom gate and taken for a joy ride.

On Saturday Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said eight youths fled the scene, leaving their friend to die on the footpath. "They showed a callous disregard for their critically injured friend and fled the scene, abandoning the 18-year old who was lying on the road in significant pain and unable to move while against the vehicle, which was billowing smoke following the crash," Mr Lindner said.

The young man who died was facing two counts of driving and using a vehicle without consent, and had been before the courts on four separate occasions. He was also the father of two-month-old.

A war between families who want "payback" against the driver and those who fled the vehicle has begun. Over the weekend the victim's family moved out of town.

Then... there are some people who think Abos need to run our country?! Clearly the community is a lawless one now. Or... that all law only applies to Whitey?! What a joke!

An elderly couple were awoken to a gang of knife-wielding burglars rummaging through their Alice Springs home.

The five males armed with 'edged weapons' had kicked down the front door of their Lovegrove Drive home, in Araluen, just after after 5am on Sunday.

They demanded money, cigarettes and alcohol from the 73-year-old man at the home as one of the knifemen held a blade to the throat of his partner, 72.

The men ferried alcohol to a red Holden Commodore driven by a female accomplice waiting across the road, with the ordeal lasting 30 minutes.

The 72-year-old woman was eventually able to escape through the back door before calling Triple-Zero.

Norther Territory Police have urged anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time to contact police immediately be ashamed of their Whiteness and remember that only Black Lives Matter.

That's how I live. Whether it's waiting for coons to attempt to break in to attack, or lying police attempting to break in to attack and arrest me. And the majority of time that the cops have shown up, they've been sent by either the stinking coons or Jewish Supremacists pulling their puppet strings!

And every time that the coons attacked my home - wherever I lived in the country - they LOST! Then THEY called the cops. One time - just once - the cops did their job and took away the violent coon. A judge dropped all charges because ... "RACIST!"

As for the cops, until I installed cameras, they had everything their own way, waking me up and dragging me off to their underground cells, locking me up for days at a time for made-up civil offences. I've been dragged into those cells around a dozen times, had to fight and trade blow for blow against corrupt pigs attempting to bash me into submission and force me to confess to made up crimes. I have no idea how many times I've had them at my door with false accusations and threats, only to leave soon after. I copped that once a week and once a month for some years - in two different states! I can only guess at the amount of times the cops or the government themselves have called neighbours of mine offering them cash rewards for anything they do leading to my arrest. I'm so used to this, it's a way of life. Now I've got the cameras, I'm waiting for the next break in and attack from the Political Police so I can sue the JOG for $23 Million.

An additional 58 police will be deployed to the region in an attempt to keep law and order, and to redirect youths back to their houses if they're caught on the streets in the evening.

As the Easter long weekend approaches and for the next two weeks, youths under 18 must be in their homes between the hours of 6pm and 6am as an 'emergency situation' is declared.

'It's going to be difficult for us to manage a curfew but I think the people of Alice Springs expect their government to step up and that's what we're doing,' she said.

'Kids are not safe on the streets, and if they are not safe at home they will be taken somewhere else.'

Arrernte traditional owner Doris Stuart said crime and violence in the town often involved people from communities outside of Alice Springs.

Ms Lawler herself will travel to the embattled region on Thursday morning, alongside police chief Michael Murphy.

It comes amid heightened tensions in the community following the death of an 18-year-old boy last week.

The tragedy has sparked family feuds which have spilled onto the streets.

One Alice Springs resident made an emotional plea for the Prime Minister to intervene after a vengeful mob rampaged down the town's main street and attacked a pub with locals barricaded inside fearing for their lives.

Videos taken from inside and outside the Todd Tavern on Tuesday afternoon show the group of around 70 Indigenous people attacking the windows and doors with rocks, bricks and sometimes their bare feet as they launch flying kicks.

From the inside, a local man holds the glass doors closed with his foot as frenzied attempts are made by Indigenous youth to kick in the glass, which cracks but does not shatter.

In another video large rocks are hurled at the windows and hooded attackers can be seen menacingly carrying crow bars.

Local baker Darren Clark, who founded the Action for Alice, on Wednesday morning called on Anthony Albanese to bring the area under federal control echoing similar pleas from NT LNP Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and the town's mayor.

Asked by Sydney radio station talkback host Ben Fordham what he would like to say to Mr Albanese after the horrifying scenes, Mr Clark's voice wavered with barely controlled emotion.

'Just putting money on table doesn't fix this mate,' Mr Clark said.

'You've got to come and see for yourself. You've got to come and talk to the locals to see what we are witnessing.

'The messages I have got from people in this town overnight will break your bloody heart PM.

'Come up here and talk to your fellow Australians and help this town. Just help us.'

Mr Clark told Fordham he didn't know what to say any more because the town is 'under siege'.

'When is enough is enough?' he said.

'They are ruining our town. They have let it go. They are trusting people up here to fix this problem, they haven't got a clue buddy!

'We've tried to tell them but they can't fix this problem.

'They have let it go too far, they've got the wrong people looking into this. They aren't doing their jobs, they can't do their jobs.

'We need federal intervention up here.
Mr Clark said the Northern Territory was 'too immature to govern ourselves'.

'Our poor police are run off their feet, they are exhausted,' he said.

The mob who were filmed attacking the hotel had 'been through the whole town before that', according to Mr Clark.

'They had smashed windows throughout the whole town.

'People were locking down, putting roller shutters down. People were hiding, they smashed the cars.

'They had crowbars, axes running through the streets, it's just insane.

'It's the worst event here most of us have seen and you know I have seen a hell of a lot over the past four years.

Mr Clark believed the situation had escalated overnight in one of the town camps where Indigenous people were mourning a 'young fellow who died in a stolen car a few weeks back'.

'But that turned into payback, they are looking for the driver of the car looking for payback,' Mr Clark said

'We have had trouble last week with the bottle shops here - just absolute chaos.'

Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson has also called for the federal government to take control of the Northern Territory.
Mr Preston called the violence and anarchy seen in Alice Springs over recent days 'a national embarrassment'.

'It may sound dramatic, but I've called [for] the federal government to step in here. They need to overrule the territory government and step in because this is dangerous, it's scary,' Mr Preston told the ABC.

'That is absolute senseless destruction in our town, and it's frightening,' he said.

'Who knows what would have happened if they had have gotten to Todd Tavern.'

He confirmed Mr Clark's account that the rampaging mob had descended on the town after Tuesday's funeral and accompanying ceremonies for a who died when an allegedly stolen car crashed two weeks ago.

On March 8, an 18-year-old died after hanging out of the window of the vehicle as it rolled over in Alice Springs CBD.
Northern Territory Police Commissioner Michael Murphy said the group that invaded the town was from the Utopia region, northwest of Alice Springs.

NT Police Acting Assistant Commissioner James Gray-Spence said two arrests had been made and more than 50 weapons had been seized on Tuesday across several incidents.

An estimated $30,000 worth of damage was done to the Todd Tavern in the violent outbreak.

NT Acting Commissioner Gray-Spence said police officers had been attacked when they responded to the incident at the pub.

'We had rocks thrown at our vehicle at the same time while we were restoring order as a result of our attendance,' he said.

Senator Price has called on the Northern Territory government to allow the AFP riot officers or even Australian Defence Force personnel to be deployed to rein in the anarchy.

'It's up to the NT government to determine what is needed whether it is the riot squad or the ADF,' Senator Price told Sky News.

'But drastic measures need to be taken.'

The violence came a day after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly bashed by a group of other girls, with the footage being shared widely on social media.

In Parliament Opposition Leader Peter Dutton asked Mr Albanese if he was going to visit Alice Springs again in light of the recent incidents.
