POLICE are seeking information on two males in relation to a number of unlawful entries in Darwin.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Stringer said the offenders unlawfully entered a supermarket in Moil on  November 7 and stole alcohol, cigarettes, a small amount of cash and caused around $4,000 worth of damage.

"The offenders unlawfully entered an establishment in Marrara on November 19 and stole a quantity of alcohol from the bar area."

Police believe the offenders were also involved in the unlawful entry of a supermarket in Stuart Park on November 19 where a D-Max ute was used to ram the front doors of the building.
 
The offenders are described to be of Aboriginal appearance and athletic build between 17 and 20 years of age.

THREE males have been arrested in relation to the unlawful entry of the Stuart Park supermarket.
Detective Sergeant Mark Bland said it is alleged three males, a 15-year-old and two aged 18, were involved in the unlawful entry of the store on Tuesday 19 November, which caused approximately $20,000 damage.
"It is alleged the three also unlawfully entered a home in Durack early this morning and stole a sum of cash, car keys and a Holden Commodore," Det Sgt Bland said. 
The group, and the stolen motor vehicle, were located a short time later in Tiwi. 
The males have been charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of stealing, two counts of trespass, two counts of aggravated unlawful entry and two counts of damage property.

LONG GRASSERSBOONGS are turning to the illicit drug "ice" in large numbers, a Larrakia Nation team leader says. 
 
Larrakia Nation's Night Patrol team leader Nelson Tinoco said long grassers were using crystal methamphetamines - also known as ice - to get a stronger high.

"Drugs are the biggest thing (for long grassers), ice is massive," he told the NT News. "They smoke it from a pipe, the glass pipes are all over the place, they leave them behind.

"Sometimes you'll see the pipes all around (Mindil Beach) and Casuarina wherever they've been camping out. I see (evidence of) it about five or six nights a week. It's a growing problem. I think it's a bigger high (than alcohol).

"We and the police know the hot spots but we don't know how they afford it."

NT Police have denied the dangerous drug is being used by itinerants.

A TERRITORY man has been killed in an alleged sledgehammer attack in a public park this morning. 
 
Ron Donaldson was found dead in Katherine's Ryan Park about 10.30am.

Police have established a crime scene as detectives from Northern Investigations Section process the scene.

Mr Donaldson's friends told the NT News he saw some people going through his ute and confronted them, before one of the people allegedly picked up a sledgehammer and hit Mr Donaldson, striking him in the head.

MORE than 400 truancy officers will be employed to get remote indigenous kids to attend school.Beginning next year, "school attendance officers" will work in 40 remote communities - about half of them in the Territory - as part of a strategy discussed at last week's COAG meeting held in Canberra.

Indigenous Affairs Minister and NT Senator Nigel Scullion said the initiative was aimed at breaking the cycle of non-attendance in these communities. In some cases attendance is as low as 40 per cent.

A MAN has tried to down a long-neck at a Territory library and allegedly wrestled a librarian who attempted to confiscate his beer then launched an F-word tirade. 
 
The unknown man pulled out his alcohol at the computer terminals inside Casuarina Library on Friday.

Roper Bar miner Warwick Mylchreest, 22, was waiting to use the printer when he watched the beer battle unfold.

"He pulled out a long neck of Extra Dry and started chugging it," he said.

"He put it down on the desk and the librarian sheila told him it's a library and he can't have it here.

"Old mate jumped up and tried to wrestle her for it. They both had their hands on it.

"Then she said 'you can leave or else hand it over'."

Mr Mylchreest said the man promised to leave if the librarian gave him his beer back. But instead he sat back down at the computer.

Mr Mylchreest started filming the entertainment on his iPhone.

The librarian returned with the manager who told the man she'd call the police.

The man jumped up, shouted "well call the police" and stormed off, shouting the F-word the whole way.
