La'Shaun Quintae Holloway, 27, of Virginia Beach, was heard yelling obscenities at the crying baby over his headset.

She was found unresponsive shortly after the outburst on December 20, 2019, and rushed to the hospital

Medics discovered she had 26 rib fractures in various healing stages, bruises on her chest wall, a fractured clavicle, a skull fracture, bruising to her skull around her eyes, and an extensive brain bleed.

Her injuries were determined to be from an abusive head trauma and she died several days later.

Holloway will spend 30 years behind bars after being sentenced to 50 years with 20 years suspended on Monday.

His sentence exceeds the recommended max sentence of 23 years and eight months set by the state.

'In arguing for this high sentence, the Commonwealth referenced the significant injuries, age of the baby, and the brutality of the murder,' a statement from the prosecutors said.

'Judge Farashahi agreed that those factors warranted a sentence above the guidelines.'

Holloway was the only person looking after his baby on the day she became unresponsive.

His family heard his angry shouts over the gaming console, prosecutors said.

The father had a long rap sheet prior to his baby's death.

He has a previous conviction for child abuse and neglect, as well as, a hit-and-run, DUI, and eluding police, among others.

He also has convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, petit larceny, probation violation and failure to appear. Petit Larceny, a Probation Violation, and Failure to Appear.

He also has an adjudication as a juvenile for grand larceny.

Holloway was convicted of second-degree murder and child abuse after a three-day trial.

The identity of his daughter was not released by officials.
