Trump transition officials have told the Obama White House that foreign policy matters that need to be brought to President-elect Donald Trump's attention should be relayed through his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, the New York Times reported ... The article pointed out that while Trump has said his Orthodox Jewish son-in-law would play a central role in dealing with the Israel and expressed confidence that Kushner could help bring peace to the Middle East, Kushner's company has received multiple loans from Israel's largest bank, Bank Hapoalim. The bank is currently under investigation by the US Justice Department for allegations that it helped wealthy Americans hide assets and evade taxes.

Jared and I had a few polite conversations in the year that we cohabited on Broadway, and two very uncomfortable meetings over Israel and Palestine ... In the first, Kushner told me about his Holocaust background, his grandparents who barely survived, and his regard for Israel ... British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has called on the government to investigate "improper interference in our democratic politics," after an Israeli embassy official was recorded as saying he wanted to "take down" several British politicians who he deemed unfriendly to Israel. The comments by Shai Masot, described by Israel as a junior embassy employee, were made to a former aide to a British Conservative lawmaker during a meeting to discuss how to discredit anti-Israel lawmakers at a London restaurant and filmed by an Al-Jazeera journalist posing as a pro-Israel activist. The recording was part of a four-part series aired by Al-Jazeera titled The Lobby, which the network says exposes how the Israel lobby influences British politics.

Behind this exchange is frustration over the routine deceit and arrogance of Israeli leaders, and the humiliation of bowing to Jewish-Zionist power.
