Extract: SHOCKING CCTV footage has captured the moment a man sick of waiting for service at a suburban Melbourne bank set himself alight.

The vision was shown in a Melbourne court, where the alleged arsonist is facing multiple charges after allegedly starting the fire which destroyed the branch, and burned staff and customers.

Police allege Nur Islam, 22, poured petrol in the doorway of the Commonwealth Bank at Springvale on November 18 before lighting it, causing a large fire and creating "pandemonium" as customers and staff stampeded to escape, Melbourne Magistrates Court was told on Tuesday.

The court was told the bank was destroyed, causing up to $3 million damage.

It is alleged the "unlawful non-citizen" from Myanmar had intended to withdraw the balance of his account — $442 — but became angry at the length of time he had to wait.

Police claim he walked to a nearby service station, buying 11.33 litres of fuel for $14.71.

It is alleged he then returned to the bank, pouring the petrol in a trail from the ATMs into the bank's interior before retrieving a cigarette lighter from his pocket and igniting the fuel.

Extract: THE man who killed young water polo star Cole Miller in a random one-punch attack will spend seven years behind bars - despite the charge carrying a maximum of life. He must serve 80 per cent before applying for parole.

Cole Miller was murdered in a Hate-Crime spree by Armstrong Renata in January 2016

The 18-year-old died on January 5, two days after he was attacked by Renata, and another man, Daniel Maxwell, while out with friends in Fortitude Valley.

Maxwell had tried to start three other fights while walking through the Valley before he and Renata came upon Cole and his friend Nicholas Pace.

Maxwell had said, "Do you want to see something funny?" before approaching the pair and punching Cole in the chest.

Renata then punched Cole in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head. The court heard it was the blow to the head, and not hitting the ground, that killed Cole.

Maxwell walked from court in August after being given an 18-month suspended sentence for his role in the attack.

He was originally charged with unlawful striking causing death but pleaded guilty to affray and common assault.

He has since been deported to New Zealand.

Extract: The man climbed the fence of her home in Loganlea, south of Brisbane, at about 5am on Monday and unlocked the back entrance by reaching through a dog door.

He made his way past her sleeping parents and a relative to her upstairs bedroom and, after scooping her from her bed, almost left the home with the child sleeping in his arms.

"She just thought it was one of her parents moving her," Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ralston told reporters at Logan police station.

Police said the man punched the girl in the face when she screamed to alert her parents.

Her parents were woken by the commotion and her father confronted the child snatcher.

He managed to escape and was last seen riding away on a BMX bike.

Det Sen Sgt Ralston said the man had first been seen in the area about 90 minutes before the attempted kidnapping.

He urged people to be vigilant about home security.

"Please lock your homes. Be safe, be secure," he said. "This person's obviously up to no good."

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, aged in his early 20s, wearing long pants, a charcoal hoodie and last seen riding a BMX bike.

Extract: A WOMAN who was gang-raped at 14 says the greatest injustice she suffered was her treatment in the courtroom.

Tegan Wagner, 29, has launched a bid to stop in-court victim blaming during an emotional interview on Nine's60 Minutes.

The Sydney woman was a victim of the notorious Ashfield Gang Rapists — a group responsible for committing a series of attacks involving the indecent assault and rape of young women at knifepoint.

Ms Wagner was invited to a local house party with a group of friends when she was assaulted by three brothers in 2002. She was just a teenager and had never been kissed before or drunk alcohol.

"After I left the bathroom, that's when things took a turn. I was taken into a bedroom by one of the boys," she told Tara Brown.

"I was saying no, I was saying stop, but I couldn't do anything. Then the next guy came in, and he pushed me back down.

"I said no, but then he started raping me. And then he left the room and I found my underwear and I tried to put my underwear on and leave the room ... that's when the last one came in.

"He slapped me across the face and said, 'Do you want me to stab you?' and I said, 'I don't want you to stab me'. Then he started raping me."

During a gruelling cross-examination that lasted three days, Ms Wagner said she was grilled with more than 2000 questions and "made to feel dirty" like a "slut".
"This was three days of hell," she said.
