Extract: One man has been charged after a brawl involving 40 mud people erupted in Sydney's CBD in the early hours of this morning.

Authorities were alerted to the fight outside a Pitt Street convenience store about 4am, and police used pepper spray to break up the fight.

Extract: A gang of Sudanese teenagers allegedly bashed an autistic boy, 17, in an horrific attack on a Melbourne bus on Saturday.

Max, 17, was travelling alone on the bus at Tarneit, 25km west of the CBD, when five Sudanese men approached him and told him to hand over his mobile phone and shoes.

When Max refused, the gang attacked him, kicking him in the head so hard he suffered a concussion and required a CT scan to check for permanent damage, his mother said.

Extract: 47-year-old Fouad Hasna pulled a 12-year-old boy into the cubicle as he tried to leave a public toilet in Bass Hill, on the Hume Highway, on Saturday night.

The boy managed to escape when two other men entered the toilet and startled Mr Hasna, police allege.

Mr Hasna was charged with assault with intent to have sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14 years old.

He was denied bail at Bankstown Local Court this afternoon.

Extract: Halal butcher charged with murder had a one-hour window in which to decapitate his friend and dispose of his body, a Brisbane court has heard.

According to the prosecution, Mohammed Khan drove from his Rockhampton home to the banks of a muddy inlet of the Fitzroy River and brutally murdered fishing buddy and colleague Syied Alam, on the night of April 5 last year.

Mr Khan decapitated Mr Alam, who he had lived and worked with for years after first meeting him in immigration detention. Justice Glenn Martin agreed the motive was unclear ... and refused bail.
