"The Red shed" gave you a call? Education is one of Australia's biggest industries. They care more for international students than they do locals!

They get upfront fees from half of Asia and the flow on effects into the economy. Once Asians have studied here it is simple for them to find a work sponsor and get a visa.

This isn't the free University days of old where Taxes pay for your education. Now it's a HECS debt .

Higher education was only free for a short period here under Prime Minister Gough Whitlam in the early 70's. It was the era of pulling the troops out of Vietnam, bringing an end to conscription, universal free healthcare (known as Medibank), and the beginning of the mass importation of non-Whites, Gook refugees from Vietnam rocking up in their leaky boats and the final nails in the coffin of the policies that were collectively known as the White Australia Policy. Then Whitlam got the arse and Hebrew Fraser took over. Fraser kept everything anti-White Australia, but dumped universal free healthcare and free education in Universities.

Free healthcare came back in a limited fashion in the 80's, known as Medicare. And of course you already know that the universities became an international business sold off to the highest Chinky bidder.
