I think it's only a matter of time before people find life out there in space. With all the hundreds of exo planets known to be the habitable zone of their orbit it seems quite unlikely that Earth is the only planet that harbors life. I wonder if scientists are correct in assuming that water is vital for life and that organisms can't develop via different physical and chemical reactions under different conditions. Microscopic lifeforms on Earth have been discovered that have evolved to have incredibly slow metabolisms surviving withought water and sunlight for thousands of years!
