The mystery is solved — but the future of the young girl known only as Maria is still uncertain.
DNA tests have confirmed that a Bulgarian Roma couple living in an impoverished village with their nine other children are the biological parents of the girl found in Greece with another Roma couple, authorities said Friday.
Genetic profiles of Sasha Ruseva, 35, and her 37-year-old husband, Atanas, matched that of Maria, Bulgarian Interior Ministry official Svetlozar Lazarov said Friday.
By late Friday, the couple had not returned to their home that was surrounded by local and international reporters after the news was announced, and police said their whereabouts were unknown to them.
Three of the couple's youngest children were taken to a shelter for temporary care, said Diana Kaneva, director of social services for the central Stara Zagora region.
Ruseva had said she gave birth to a baby girl four years ago in Greece while working there as an olive picker but gave the child away because she was too poor to care for her. She since has had two more children after Maria.
Maria has been in a charity's care since authorities raided a settlement of Roma, also known as Gypsies, in Greece last week and found she was not related to the Greek Roma couple she was living with.

they tested the DNA and she is a kid of another gypsy family with ten kids three of whom are blonde\ albino. Regarding the genetics- an albino is not a "white person". Albinism is a genetic mutation that affects 1 in 15,000 organisms. the mutation first happened maybe a billion years ago when even animals and plants had a common ancestor. This is because 1 in 15,000 plants is an albino, just as 1 in 15000 snakes is an albino. even 1 in 15000 niggers or chinx are albinos. that means there are like 1 million albinos in china. They are not members of the white race but are a source of genetic contamination and potential miscegenation.
The fact is the balkans have been swept with waves of pale blonde races; Hellenic Greeks, celts,macedonians, goths, thracians, dacians and dark races: turks, slaves, persians, roman mongrels, slavs, bulgars and gypsies for thousands of years. it is not surprising that the genes can throw up aryan looking kids. Character wise she may well be just a gypsy with a tendency to theft, criminality and prostitution..but maybe not. Such a family would have to be studied for genetic and racial character by racial scientists to make genuine conclusions ( but that ain't going to happen). Personally i would not jump to conclusions. if people can produce White children i can deem them to be members of the White race..but thats just me, i have no power of decision.
Did you see the video? There is a creepy looking kid of her's with ginger hair too who's a toddler, a 14 yr old boy and also a teen age girl . These Gypsies look like Indian/ Paki sort of subcontinetals, how the heck can you have 3 albino kids come out of you and look like that small child "Maria"?
They're also finding White red and blonde haired, and blued and green eyed kids with Irish Gypsies. I don't give a toss that they call them Travellers there. They are not some cultural Irish, Scottish or British phenomena. These scum are the same sub-human Roma that exist everywhere in Europe and travel the world kidnapping and running cons wherever they go. If a few Irish, Scots and what-have-you have been forced into the same lifestyle because of persecution that took place hundreds of years ago, it means not a thing to me, because these Irish and Scots Travellers have culturally and politically aligned themselves with the Roma, and are therefore no longer to be considered White.
