Hi. I'll try it out but am almost certain it won't work as I attempted to use dragon naturally speaking a voice-to-text program and it was a total failure. Given that the recordings entail advanced vocabulary and unusual punctuation at times it almost certainly won't work. I suppose you don't know of anyone wanting some cash for the job?

I was thinking of Dragon Naturally Speaking as well. Ripped it off a decade ago for a brother. Yes, the paid version. However, if a newer version doesn't work, I doubt an older one would do the job.

I could do it, ...but with my migraines, no. I type about 70WPM. If it wasn't for the migraines, I'd do a whole lot more for Creativity. My reasoning is, if I cannot do it for Creativity, I don't do it. And no, I do not know anybody that is at my level or better. I guess I tend not to hang out with nerds that can do the things I do. They're just too damned nerdy. LOL.

Personally, other than testing Dragon ... that one time, I've never done the Speech to Text thing. I've always done it the other way: Text to Speech. To be truthful, that's an entire pain in the arse. Ever tried to get a computer to read aloud, "RaHoWa" ??? It can be done, but you've got an entire book to edit to make it sound right. And the same again with any word you hear that just doesn't sound right; then you have to stop and restart ... until the next odd sounding word, and the next, and ... ad nauseam.

Anyway, things have moved on. Who knows, you might get lucky.

Thanks for the qualified offer. I understand and don't have a willingness to type it myself as I have 40 hours of audio and type 2-3 times(or more) as slowly as I write, so if I type I'd never write anything new. As to text-to-speech, a good robot voice is at texttospeech.com which lets you do 50k characters per mp3 file and its free. See below for an example:

Thanks, but I'm beyond any free software for most things. If I want something, I will find a way to rip it off - or something like it at the same quality.

As for migraines - it's related to my high blood pressure. Caffeine is a trigger for me. Haven't had the stuff since I was a teenager. No chocolate, no coffee, only the occasional specifically caffeine-free tea, no Coca Cola or Pepsi, never tried an energy drink ... That's life. Even the simple effort it takes building a website or typing triggers migraines. Summer heat, dehydration .... I'm used to living with migraines and spending parts of some days blind and knowing that anybody I interact with will think I'm drunk - because that's how I sound and feel with migraines. Nevermind the lack of sleep on top of that which exacerbates any symptoms I already have, and then I drink to at least get some relief from the pounding headaches, blurred vision and screaming tinnitus inside my head.

Shite happens. It could be worse. I've learned to cope. That's life.
