By Illinois state policies, I've always known it was a sanctuary state, even though the state has never came out an announced it. I definitely don't mind not having detention centers here in Illinois. The illegal muds should never be allowed into the States in the first place. But unfortunately Illinois is enforcing this ban to reduce holding facilities for the muds, so that they can be released into our communities.
Chicago on the other hand has always claimed to be a sanctuary city. So it's no surprise that the nigger queer mayor (2nd governor of Illinois) is impeding ICE's raids.

Illinois bans private immigration detention centers

By Jamie Ehrlich, CNN
Posted at 11:09 PM ET, Fri June 21, 2019

Washington (CNN) — Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker signed a bill on Friday that bans private immigration detention centers in the state, making it the first in the nation to forbid the practice, according to a release from the governor's office.

Pritzker signed the legislation, HB 2040, as part of a three-part package to protect undocumented immigrants, as the state braces for Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids that are expected in Chicago and nine other major cities starting Sunday.

Private detention centers have become popular, particularly close to the southern border, as Customs and Border Protection struggles to deal with the influx of migrants and refugees entering the United States. The private-prison industry as a whole is benefiting from Trump's border policies. But those lucrative business opportunities are also drawing increased public and legal scrutiny of a system that, advocates charge, treats detainees cruelly.

According to a statement from Pritzker's office, he also signed HB 1637, which prohibits local law enforcement from working with federal immigration enforcement and from removing undocumented immigrants from the US. The third piece of legislation in the package was HB 2691, which allows undocumented immigrants in Illinois to qualify for state financial aid, the release says.

After President Donald Trump tweeted on Monday that an operation to deport "millions" of undocumented immigrants was imminent, a senior immigration official told CNN that ICE was moving forward with a raid on Sunday that is expected to target families with court-ordered removals -- about 2,000 people in 10 cities.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Friday that the Chicago Police Department will not cooperate with the ICE raids, adding that "Chicago will always be a welcoming city and a champion for the rights of our immigrant and refugee communities."

Chicago has previously declared itself a "sanctuary city," a broad term applied to jurisdictions that have policies in place designed to limit cooperation with or involvement in federal immigration enforcement actions.

Illinois governor signs order to protect transgender students

By Jay Croft
Updated at 1:31 PM ET, Sun June 30, 2019

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzer holds his executive order signed Sunday morning at a high school with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to the right.

(CNN) — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker used the occasion of World Pride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots to advocate for transgender kids Sunday.

Pritzker signed an executive order aimed at ensuring schools have what they need to be "affirming and inclusive for transgender, nonbinary and gender nonconforming students," said a statement from his office.

"This executive order is one more step toward securing Illinois' place as a leader in equality and hope," Pritzker said. "Under this executive order, ignorance is no longer an excuse for bigotry."

The order establishes a task force to look at best practices and directs the state Board of Education to take several steps. Those steps include promoting LGBTQ students' rights in schools, and developing procedures for concerns such as student records, names and pronouns, and dress codes.

"Ending the intolerable levels of discrimination and violence against our transgender community starts here -- in our schools -- by making the values of tolerance and respect just as much a part of our educational cultural as academics, athletics, and the arts," Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a statement.

Like other cities across the country and the world, Chicago is celebrating LGBTQ pride with an annual parade Sunday. Lightfoot, the city's first openly gay mayor, is one of seven grand marshals. Affiliate WGN says she will become the first mayor to ride on a Chicago Pride Parade float.

Act removed from Du Quoin State Fair lineup

Posted: Jul 04, 2019 5:00 PM CDT Updated: Jul 04, 2019 5:15 PM CDT
By Kenzie Dillow

DU QUOIN (WSIL) -- A band has been removed from the Du Quoin State Fair lineup.

Confederate Railroad will no longer perform on August 27.

The Du Quoin Weekly reports the band was removed because of their name.

Back in June, Rich Miller with Capitol Fax, asked whether or not people thought the band playing at a state-owned facility was appropriate.

Fair Manager, Josh Gross, told the newspaper the Illinois Department of Agriculture made the decision saying, "While every artists has a right to expression, we believe this decision is in the best interest of serving all of the people in our state."

Confederate Railroad was scheduled to perform with country artists Shenandoah and Restless Heart, who will still perform.

Confederate Railroad still has the concert date on their tour schedule, but the band was removed from the lineup on Ticketmaster.

Illinois kindergarten teacher at private Christian school charged with sex assault, child porn solicitation

Suburban kindergarten teacher charged with sexual assault, soliciting child porn

BURBANK, Ill. -- An Illinois kindergarten teacher is facing charges after being accused of engaging in sexual conduct with two underage students.

Shannon Griffin, 49, a teacher Jordan Baptist School, was taken into custody Monday and charged with sexual assault and solicitation of child pornography.

Investigators said Griffin sent nude pictures and videos of herself to a high school junior and requested he do the same.

The alleged conduct began in 2013 and continued through March of this year, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Griffin is married to the pastor of Jordan Baptist Church.

The couple have three daughters, two who teach at the school, according to the school’s website.

The school teaches about 100 students grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services also has an ongoing investigation into multiple allegations of abuse.

Griffin was also charged with grooming and distribution of harmful materials.

On Wednesday, a judge set Griffin's bond at $750,000. Her attorney said the family will try and raise the $75,000 needed to get her released.

Chicago Mayor Permanently Bans ICE From Accessing Police Databases Ahead Of Raids

Mayor Lori Lightfoot vowed to protect Chicago’s immigrant enclaves by halting any police cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

By Sanjana Karanth
07/11/2019 07:55 PM ET

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Wednesday that her city has permanently banned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from accessing the Chicago Police Department’s databases ahead of looming ICE raids to detain undocumented immigrants.

Chicago police “will not team up with ICE to detain any resident,” the mayor said after meeting with business leaders and immigration rights advocates at Lurie Children’s Hospital. “They’re not going to be facilitating or otherwise providing any assistance in any raids ― whether it’s traffic stops [or] additional support. … We have also cut off ICE from any access from any CPD databases and that will remain permanent.”

On June 22, President Donald Trump announced that he would delay his plans for mass deportation roundups in at least 10 major cities, including Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago. He tweeted that he hoped the two-week delay would allow Democrats to “work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border.”

But The New York Times reported early Thursday that ICE officials plan to launch nationwide raids as soon as this weekend to arrest thousands of immigrants the federal government has ordered deported.

“The two-weeks clock is up, which is what the president had given,” Lightfoot said Wednesday. “We’ve heard some notion that it may start again.”

Before Trump’s first planned raid in June, Lightfoot said the Chicago Police Department would not cooperate with ICE, though Wednesday was the first time she said the city would permanently ban ICE from accessing police databases.

“Chicago is and will always be a welcoming city that will never tolerate ICE tearing our families apart,” she said. “I don’t want our immigrant residents to be fearful of being in Chicago. I don’t want people not going to work, pursuing their daily activities or their children being fearful that their parents or guardians are gonna be taken from them.”

Many immigrant rights groups in Chicago, which has long been considered a “sanctuary city,” have said the mayor is not doing enough to prevent the raids and are calling on her to issue an executive order that denies access to Chicago databases to any agency under the Department of Homeland Security, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Organizers reportedly said the order they’re proposing wouldn’t include anything that Lightfoot hasn’t already said she’s doing, but it would set things in stone.

“We have seen flip-flopping where [Lightfoot] says one thing to one audience and then she says something different to the community groups,” Rey Wences, of Organized Communities Against Deportation, told the Sun-Times, though he didn’t cite a specific example. “We are feeling conflicted but not surprised.”

Lightfoot ran her mayoral campaign on a promise to strengthen Chicago’s Welcoming City ordinance by removing loopholes. Under the city’s sanctuary ordinance, Chicago police are allowed to cooperate with ICE if the targeted people are in the city’s gang database, have pending felony prosecutions or prior felony convictions, or have an outstanding criminal warrant.

Immigration rights activists, Hispanic city council members, and the American Civil Liberties Union have all called for those exemptions to be removed. Lightfoot’s ban on police-ICE cooperation also includes use of the city’s gang databases, which are notoriously inaccurate.

To prepare for the raids, civil rights groups nationwide are encouraging immigrants to read up on their legal rights, which Lightfoot also encouraged on Wednesday. The ACLU says undocumented immigrants are not legally required to grant ICE agents access to their homes without a specific kind of warrant. If arrested, everyone is entitled to remain silent and to access a government-appointed attorney.
