Well I’ve talked about my views on here about US gun rights and massacres before. However I can see why US citizens are cheesed off!

More that 100,000. / month in unauthorised immigrants , no promised wall, pussy footing around in court. A divided country on the matter. I wonder if his manifesto will be banned too? He referenced Tarrant.

If the start of this video isn't proof of why we need a border wall, I'm not sure what what else will work.

I've seen articles claiming the last two month decline of border apprehensions was "thanks" to the mexican muds coming to our aid (if for any reason it was the threat of tariffs). I'm not so convinced they have done much. According to border patrol statistics in the summer months the flow of  muds at the border tend to slow. I would assume it's due to the heat.  We've had a very hot last couple months here in Illinois, so I can just imagine travelling across a desert. Unfortunately the real question is what's the number of the muds not getting caught crossing.

Border Apprehensions Declined Last Month, But Remain Double from Last July

While border apprehensions dropped below 100,000 for the first time since February, the border crisis is still far from over.

SARAH MCCONNELL

Today, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) reported apprehending or deeming inadmissible more than 82,000 illegal immigrants during the month of July, marking the first time since February that apprehensions have dropped below 100,000 at the southwest border.

However, the total apprehensions from last month are equivalent to the population of Longview.

While these statistics indicate a reduction from approximately 104,000 to 82,000 between June and July this year, the total number of individuals apprehended or deemed inadmissible in July 2018 when compared to July 2019 has still more than doubled.

While it is common for border apprehension statistics to be smaller by comparison in summer months, the release of these statistics comes as the crisis at the border continues and immigrants continue to arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border in unprecedented numbers.

Since the beginning of the fiscal year in October 2018 through July 2019, CBP has reported apprehending or deeming inadmissible a total of 862,785 individuals at the southern border.

With a $90 annual plan, you can become the most informed Texan you know for the cost of one overpriced sandwich per month.

By comparison, just over 521,000 individuals were apprehended or deemed inadmissible for the entirety of fiscal year 2018.

The Trump administration recently issued new immigration policies with the intent of reducing asylum-seeking at the U.S.-Mexico border, thereby hoping to alleviate strains placed on the overwhelmed immigration system.

Additionally, these statistics come just weeks after the U.S. signed a “safe-third country” agreement with Guatemalawith the hopes of further reducing strains on the system.

Under the terms of this agreement, individuals who first travel through Guatemala while en route to the U.S. must first seek-asylum in Guatemala, as opposed to the United States.

In a statement last week, Mexican Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard announced similar statistics, when he reported a 39 percent declinein the number of immigrants traveling through Mexico to reach the U.S. from May to July, citing the drop as a “considerable reduction.”

The release of these apprehension statistics comes just one day after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents reported arresting nearly 700 illegal immigrants at seven poultry processing facilities in Mississippi in “what is believed to be the largest single-state immigration enforcement operation in our nation’s history,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Mike Hurst said of the operation.

Earlier this week, CBP also announced the opening of two new Texas detention facilities in Donna and Tornilla with plans for continued expansions in Yuma, Arizona as the crisis at the border continues.

And our enemies try to tell us this isn't an invasion by the muds. But in fact we're in a war that we our losing due to the fact that our country won't recognize it, or better yet are purposely ignoring the problem.

A US Border Patrol boat on the Rio Grande takes fire from the Mexican side

By Susan Scutti, CNN | Fri August 9, 2019

A US Border Patrol boat was fired upon Friday from the Mexican riverbank, according to US Customs and Border Protection officials in the Rio Grande Valley, who tweeted this photo with details of the incident.

(CNN) — A US Border Patrol boat patrolling the Rio Grande was shot at early Friday morning from the riverbank on the Mexican side, US Customs and Border Protection, or CPB, reported.

More than 50 rounds were fired and the boat was hit several times, but no one on board was injured, according to the agency.

Shots rang out while the agents were patrolling near Fronton, Texas, the Rio Grande City Station Marine Unit reported. Agents saw four people with automatic weapons on the Mexican riverbank, CPB reported.

The incident is under investigation.

The Rio Grande City station's area of responsibility encompasses about 1,220 square miles of Starr County, Texas, including 68 miles of international border, the agency's website explains.

Three ports of entry -- Rio Grande City, Roma and Falcon Dam -- are located in the territory. Directly across the Rio Grande are the Mexican cities of Ciudad Camargo, Miguel Aleman, Mier and Nuevo Guerrero, all located in Tamaulipas, one of Mexico's 31 states.
