Title: Embedding Video: Finding the Video's Direct Link
Post by: Rev.Cambeul on Sun 13 Jul 2014
The easiest way to find the direct Link or URL to an embedded video is to install a program such as Flash Video Downloader http://www.flashvideodownloader.org (http://www.flashvideodownloader.org)

Once installed, all you do is go to the page with the video, click on the blue arrow in your web-browser tool bar, copy the direct Link to the video, and paste where the Link into your post where you want your video to appear. Creator Forum will handle the rest.

There is other video download software available. A web search with your favourite Search Provider will supply you with any number of options there.

And the old fashioned way to determine the direct Link to a video? Right click on a web page, select View Source and scan through the results for any .FLV, .MP4 et cetera ... video Link.

Can't find .FLV, .MP4 or anything else that is suitable but you can play a long ling directly in your browser?

Typical Facebook Style Video Link:

<video width="480" height="360" controls><source src="https://video.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t43.1792-2/13291923_1015627311856131_75864364_n.mp4?efg=eyJybHIiOjE1MDAsInJsYSI6MTM5OCwidmVuY29kZV90YWciOiJzdmVfaGQifQ%3D%3D&rl=1500&vabr=860&oh=0ccc7743d4be02f5eb9d2e655122dfa1&oe=574AC331"></video>

Explained Simply:

<video width="480" height="360" controls><source src="PLACE VIDEO URL HERE"></video>

But, notice that you cannot see that video? That is not because the URL is incorrect; it is because the URL is only viewable to the person that found it and followed it on the original source page. So, not every video link will appear as you expect, but with a little know-how you can link to anything.
