Bah! They are a bloody nuisance on the road!
So picture this scenario.You are on 140 Kph limit NT roads. You have to try over take these bloody monsters! Not to mention all the caravans and stuff the "grey nomads" are hauling up the Stuart highway. Then you have things like wild camels (the offspring of Afghan cameliers) and wild horses (the descents of WW1 cavalry horses) wandering the highway as well in central Australia. It makes for a dangerous mix.
Then you stop to rest in some hick town full of Abo's that looks like something from a zombie film.Only to find your car got broken into or vandalised in the morning.
I think it is better to put the vehicles on the train. Much safer!
