Salubrious Living: Sulphur, Garlic, Cider Vinegar.

Just some practical tips with regard to salubrious living and day to day maladies. Three things we have used as  a family with great success for 18 years.

1. Sulphur is naturally occurring yellow element and is great for rubbing in cuts, scratches and wounds. There is a whole range of commercial medicines called sulphonomides that do the same job but should be frowned upon by those seeking the salubrious life.

Bacteria can't resist sulphur and ingest so much their bio-chemistry bursts them from osmosis. This way they can't develop resistance. Works on fungal infections also e.g athletes foot. Creators can use sulphur medicinally because it is naturally occurring and not a product of the drugs industry.

2. Raw garlic acts as an internal sulphonamide and passes via the blood stream to any infection. Sore throats, swelling, infections, fever, garlic is great. @Cailen pickles his own garlic.

3. Cider vinegar is an old hill-billy remedy and cure all. A table spoon of cider  vinegar and a table spoon of honey disolved in very hot water make a great drink that cures anything from sore throats to fever, colds and flu. The honey is a natural anti-biotic and the vinegar raises blood pH to supress virus and bacteria.

You are right the cider vinegar is an old  hill billy thing.  My dear old  granny would do that for us when we got sick, but I still use it today and it work.  Sometimes a drink of R&R also.

I found another cure for a fairly common ailment. RE jock itch. Its a dude thing that I had recently but I didn't want to use any medication. I remembered from archaeology that the Romans used vinegar for personal below belt hygeine. I gave it a try and it worked though it did bloody well sting a bit! Not had any problems since. I beleive the acid is just sufficient to make the environment inhospitable to fungal infection.
