Yes, you can get a power drain when the vehicle is off; Computer and Alarm - and faults with either lead to more power drains. However, the test was run through the OBD port while the car was running and the heater and fan were turned on full blast. I did not turn the heater nor the fan on ... understand my scepticism?

(Update 2023: The real power drain on my car battery was the starter motor. Replaced that in late 22. All fixed.)

Anyway, sealed batteries these days. And Calcium batteries are not Lead batteries.

Boiling water on a Lead battery works on a cold morning, but does not work with a Calcium battery. However, the Calcium battery does work better in the cold, and the Lead works better in the heat. At least ... now I'm an expert because the salesman at Repco told me the last yesterday.

After getting the car painted, it was two months without driving. The battery was barely turning over, so I took it for a few long drives over the next week before ChristMassInsanity hit again. It only really charged it for the next day or two. It failed today and I had to get a jump start from the R. Auto-mobile Association. After I got Nigger her drugs, I went home and ripped out the battery. It turns out that being a Calcium Hybrid, it needs a special deep charge with a Calcium charger after discharging.

So now I've got my bonnet unlatched and doors locked. As long as nobody tampers with my car and puts the bonnet down, I can charge the battery properly, raise the bonnet, put in the battery ... and everything should be ready to go again.

After New Year, I probably should drive more. Perhaps, check my post office box once a week? Or maybe go the other way to a strange Northern City I've heard of called Elizabeth and do some flyering? I think it's time for some WHITE LIVES MATTER flyers.

Petroleum/Gasoline - Petrol/Gas Octane Ratings - What Do They Mean?

As someone who loads and delivers fuel to the big retailers I can provide the following useful info

7-Eleven 98RON Premium Unleaded fuel is just straight 98RON ULP with no additives.

Shell V-Power, Caltex Vortex 98 and BP Ultimate are all different products because they use different additives, V-Power contains an additive called NEMO 6101, BP Ultimate contains Keropur and the Vortex 98 is a secret !

Before Mobil was taken over by 7-Eleven the Mobil 98 RON product (Synergy 8000) also contained Keropur, not sure if it was exactly the same as the BP Ultimate but it was loaded via the same loading arm at the terminal, now 7-Eleven only sell the straight 98 product without the additives.

As to which of the 98RON fuel is the best I would say this, each vehicle is different and as such I would try each one out and see what sort of fuel economy your vehicle can acheive and draw your own conclusion.

If you're reading owner's manuals from overseas, bear in mind that octane ratings are not constant around the world. Here in Australia, we use 'research octane number' or RON. Same standard as most of Europe. Note: most of Europe.

But in the United States and Canada (ie North America) they use the Anti-Knock Index, which is the numeric average of the RON and another octane measurement standard called the Motor Octane Number (MON).

Essentially, for any given fuel, RON is about four points higher than the Anti-Knock Index. So 91 here - our entry-level cat's piss petrol - is about the same as 87 gasoline in the USA and Canada.

And if you're wondering why so many Euro cars demand 95 here in Australia, it's because 95 is the default, entry-level cat's piss in Europe. They don't do 91.

What Do I Buy & Where Do I Get It?

I buy 98 from a petrol station where I am served by White People. The cheap stuff doesn't have the additive detergents to keep the engine clean. If your engine is gunked up with carbon, then higher octane will make a difference, your engine will rev higher, and your car will run better. I just want to keep my engine clean/cleaner while I can. I typically only add $20 98 Octane per week - which probably makes no difference, as my car is designed to run on 91 RON/87 USA. Although that is standard, so I asked my mechanic to tune my car to run better on the higher octane; but does it

That is one hell of a superbike you've got.

The older models of motorbikes such as the Harley-Davidson Model W, introduced in 1919, only had a top speed of 81km/h because they were made of steel, including the fuel tank, which was heavier, they had no fuel injection in the engines which was less efficient, and they only used tires with lines, instead of complicated groove patterns, which had less traction than modern tires.

The fastest superbike today is the MTT 420-RR. Invented by Christian Travert and made by American company Marine Turbine Technologies, it is the 1st motorbike to be powered by a turboshaft engine and it is the 1st to use carbon fiber reinforced plastic for its fairings, which gives this superbike a top speed of 439km/h.

American company Lightning Motorcycle also set the world speed record for the fastest electric motorbike with a top speed of 351km/h using its Lightning LS-218. The Harley-Davidson Streamliner also set a world speed record in 1970 of 427km/h using, for the 1st time, nitromethane as the fuel for the engine, because of its high energy density, which greatly increased engine power output and consequently the top speed, and using, also for the 1st time, an aerodynamic fairing to reduce drag and further increase top speed. This motorcycle was designed by Warner Riley and driven by Cal Rayborn.

American aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss actually set the 1st motorcycle speed record in 1903 with his Curtiss motorcycle that had a top speed of 103km/h. It was named Curtiss because it was Curtiss' own design and it was made by his own company which was also the 1st company to mass produce airplanes using the moving assembly line system invented by Henry Ford and adapted for making airplanes by Glenn Curtiss.
