Another child has been randomly stabbed - this time in London: The UK government are doing their usual and withholding details. However, the government is willing to emphasise that it was Arabic/Pakistani/Muslim security guards that leapt to the child's rescue. That's the same hero story they used in the Dublin kiddy stabbings, so deja vu anyone?

A street performer who witnessed the stabbing said he saw a young, white male wearing a black T-shirt and jeans attack the pair.

Desmond, 45, said the knifeman focused the attack on the girl, putting her in a headlock and stabbing her.

Desmond, who performs as Darth Vader on the square "every day", told The Telegraph that he was standing outside the Lego store when the stabbing took place.

He said: "I was looking forwards, and when I heard the screaming I had to turn to the side. And when I looked he [the assailant] was attacking the little girl. He was stabbing her with a knife."

Before Desmond could get down off his stand, he said two men who appeared to be passing by intervened.

He said: "The two boys who were passing, they rushed the [attacker], and pushed him to the ground. And the police got there really quickly and handcuffed him and put him in a van."

When the police arrived and put the attacker in handcuffs, Desmond told The Telegraph that the attacker did not resist: "He was not fighting or struggling with them, he was not struggling at all."

The force said a man had been arrested and was in custody. Police do not believe the suspect knew the victims and said they did not believe the attack to be terror-related.

Scotland Yard said neither the child or woman's injuries are life-threatening and added there is no suggestion the attack is terror-related.

They keep emphasising a lack of terror-related motive. They don't do that for White perpetrators.

Even the dribbling crazy that using a homemade pistol shot and stabbed a leftard female Labour politician was immediately/and still is labelled as a Racist, Neo-Nazi, White Supremacist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic Domestic Terrorist. And he had a long verifiable history of mental health issues.

The judge concluded that Mair wanted to advance white supremacy and exclusive nationalism most associated with Nazism and its modern forms. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life order.

An 11-year-old girl will require plastic surgery after being stabbed eight times with a steak knife at Leicester Square while on holiday with her mother, a court has heard.

Ioan Pintaru, 32, allegedly put the child in a headlock while attacking her before he was restrained by members of the public, then police arrived and arrested him.

The girl was left with injuries to the face, shoulder, wrist and neck after the 'random attack' at the London tourist spot with her 34-year-old mother at 11.34am yesterday.

Pintaru, a Romanian citizen of no fixed abode, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

He wore a grey prison-issue sweatshirt and the court heard he is a Romanian citizen. The charges were read to him through an interpreter during the ten-minute hearing.

Pintaru was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on September 10.

An 11-year-old girl stabbed eight times with a steak knife in Leicester Square has been revealed to be an Australian tourist who was on holiday with her family.

The victim, who will require plastic surgery, was allegedly put in a headlock by Ioan Pintaru, 32, who is accused of attacking her before being restrained by members of the public and arrested by police.

The girl, from New South Wales, was left with injuries to the face, shoulder, wrist and neck after the 'random attack' at the London tourist spot with her mother, 34, on Monday at 11.34am.

Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has said the girl's family is receiving consular assistance.

An 11-year-old Australian girl who was stabbed in London's Leicester Square has returned home and bravely spoken for the first time since the harrowing ordeal.

Laila Johnson was with her mum Samantha, 34, in the tourist hotspot on August 12 when she was attacked, allegedly by a homeless man.

The schoolgirl from Candelo near Bega on the NSW south coast, was left with injuries to the face, shoulder, wrist and neck after the 'random attack' with a steak knife.
