Malaysia has become the first country to warn citizens against travel to Britain as violence spurred by the far right continues across the country.

Malaysia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the warning late on Sunday, saying it was "closely monitoring the series of protests currently taking place in several areas of the United Kingdom, following the stabbing incident in Southport on July 29"

Malaysians were urged to register their presence with the country's High Commission in London.

"Malaysians residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom are urged to stay away from protest areas, remain vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by local authorities," the ministry said.

Australians travelling to Britain are also urged to "exercise a great deal of caution", although the warning mostly relates to the ongoing threat of a terror attack.

"Avoid areas where protests are occurring due to the potential for disruption and violence. Monitor the media for information and updates. Follow the instructions of local authorities," the Smartraveller website noted on Monday.

It came as the British government convened a high-level emergency meeting in Downing Street on Monday after more than 150 people were arrested following a weekend of violence in British towns and cities.

At least 10 police officers were injured, including one left unconscious, after rioters tried to storm the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Rotherham in northern England on Sunday.

Anti-immigration demonstrators threw planks of wood at officers and sprayed them with fire extinguishers.

Hotel employees and residents, some of whom are asylum seekers, were terrified, but no injuries were reported, police said.

The unrest was sparked after last week's stabbing rampage at a Taylor Swift-inspired dance class that left three girls dead and several wounded.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack on the hotel, describing it as "far-right thuggery" – as the violence was repeated in other towns and cities.

"To those who feel targeted because of the colour of your skin or your faith, I know how frightening this must be," he said in an address to Britons.

"I want you to know that this violent mob do not represent our country, and we will bring them to justice.

That includes Monday's Cobra meeting, which will bring together ministers, civil servants, the police and intelligence officers.

"People in this country have a right to be safe, and yet we've seen Muslim communities targeted, attacks on mosques," Starmer said.

"Other minority communities singled out, Nazi salutes in the street, attacks on the police, wanton violence alongside racist rhetoric, so no, I won't shy away from calling it what it is: Far-right thuggery."

Britain's Home Office has offered greater protection for mosques, including new "emergency security" that can be rapidly deployed to respond to the violent disorder.

Further demonstrations are expected across the country, with many counter-demonstrators also set to make their presence felt.

On Saturday, far-right activists faced off with anti-racism protesters in many towns and cities. There were violent scenes from Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, to Liverpool in the north-west of England and Bristol in the west.

Further arrests are likely as police scour CCTV, social media and body-worn camera footage.

In just one incident on Saturday, Merseyside Police said about 300 people were involved in violent disorder in Liverpool, in which a local library was set on fire.

The Spellow Lane Library Hub, which opened last year to provide support for one of the country's most deprived communities, suffered severe damage.

The violence erupted earlier this week, ostensibly in protest of last week's stabbing attack in Southport.

A 17-year-old male, Axel Rudakubana, has been arrested and charged with three counts of murder and 10 of attempted murder.

Anger was fuelled among far-right supporters after rumours spread online that Rudakubana was a Muslim and an immigrant.

Suspects under 18 are usually not named in the UK.

A judge ordered the identification of Rudakubana, who was born in Wales to Rwandan parents, partly to stop the spread of misinformation.

It's natural for Whites to get mad about non whites killing their own, for years they have been loosing their country through multiculturalism that they were never allowed to vote on!

If they don't want disharmony they should quit with Islam also those that want Sharia law and want to dominate and multiculturalism. It doesn't works

It's a shame things like the Library got trashed but people have been told to put up with this "white anting" of their land by the system and it's building up tension people need to vent.

The Australian government told its citizens to 'exercise a high degree of caution' and to stay away from the areas where protests are taking place in an update today.

Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs similarly issued a travel alert for the UK saying there is 'an increased risk of violence and disorder occasioned by the recent riots in the UK'.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13719471/Riot-vans-line-streets-riots.html

Police vans are lining the streets in the biggest mobilisation of law enforcers since the 2011 riots amid fears of a night of chaos, with 100 far-right protests and 30 counter-demonstrations planned across Britain

Hundreds of anti-racism counter-protesters have turned out in Bristol, Birmingham, Brighton and several London boroughs in a bid to see off far-right protesters thought to be targeting immigration centres whose addresses were shared on Telegram.

Thugs have been using now-banned channels on the messaging app to threaten the lives of anti-racism campaigners, make sick slurs and exchange tips on how to 'hood up' - as police vowed to catch those inciting violence, even online.

Gatherings are anticipated in 41 of the 43 police force areas in England and Wales. A police source said: 'Today is probably going to be the busiest day of the week, into the evening.'

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Stephen Parkinson has said one case of alleged terrorism is 'actively under consideration' following the mayhem of recent days while the King is reported to have asked aides for frequent updates.

Resources are being shared around the country as forces respond to intelligence, with the Metropolitan Police understood to be sending some officers to Manchester while others in the south east are also travelling to support colleagues in north east and north west forces.

And the government is said to be looking at looking at ways of banning far-right rioters from football matches amid claims that those causing chaos on the streets have links to organised football hooligan groups.

Police have also vowed to go after those sharing hate and inciting unrest online as:

GP and hospital appointments are cancelled while pubs and shops board up;

Protesters are hauled before the courts once again with 140 now charged;

Police forces across England mobilise 6,000 riot officers amid more protests;
A pubgoer attacked by a masked mob in Birmingham suffered a torn liver;

Inquests opened into the deaths of three girls killed in Southport last week;

Footfall has dropped in UK high streets after shops were torched in the riots.

According to police sources, immigration centres and lawyers' offices are anticipated to be the main focus for the gatherings but officers could also be deployed to hotels housing asylum seekers if intelligence establishes they face credible threats.

The chaos which has engulfed Britain's streets since the Southport stabbings last week has brought parts of the country to a halt, with medical appointments cancelled as staff are too scared to go to work.

The Met says it has more than 1,300 riot cops ready to go across the capital - and has warned perpetrators they can be tracked down even when they are wearing masks.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine has urged parents to 'think carefully about where their children are today' after children as young as 11 were caught up in riots across the country.

Locals have gathered in Walthamstow to see off far-right rioters - but were told to disperse by police who told them: 'There's no one else here, it's just you guys

Local restaurant owner Mohammed Lall closed up early, telling a reporter: 'Us being a Muslim business - that is a risk for us.'

Shops in Manchester's Northern Quarter were boarded up amid fears of a repeat of the violent scenes seen on Saturday - while in Newcastle police deployed from Wales were seen letting a child try on a riot helmet as they sought to keep tensions at bay.

In Middlesborough, locals expected the worst after violence on Sunday.

Shop owner Aran, sitting with his friends drinking tea outside a Turkish barbers, said: 'The community has come out tonight to protect our properties and our families, although we hope that won't be necessary.

Meanwhile an office worker in the City of London said he and his colleagues have been told to leave their office near Liverpool Street due to 'planned riots' in the area. He said that employees have been advised to work from home for the remainder of the week and not to attend the London office.

Broadcaster Sky and supermarket chain Tesco are also on high alert for potential riots, according to journalist Oliver Whitfield-Miocic.

Sky has extra security at its West London Campus and have told staff to leave work early and avoid nearby stations. Meanwhile, Tesco is said to be 'monitoring' the situation

One immigration law firm named on the hit-list was found to have boarded itself up this morning, with other businesses including pubs and hairdressers following suit as fearful communities brace themselves for a fresh wave of violence and turn to the police to protect them.

However, some areas of the country remain open for business as police say rumours they were set to be targeted by rioters were 'misinformation'.

Lewisham police said earlier today 'shops and businesses...remain open as usual and that there was spreading of misinformation online', while Hackney council said it had 'no intelligence' to suggest disruption in Stoke Newington despite rumours to the contrary

It comes as the authorities warn those taking part they could face terrorism charges in relation to the thuggery which has been cheered on by some online personalities, while more than 100 people already face court dates over the riots.

Merseyside Police has tonight issued images of 14 people as it investigates disorder in Southport on the day after the stabbings and in Liverpool and Walton last Saturday, which saw a library torched by thugs.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Stephen Parkinson has said one case of alleged terrorism is 'actively under consideration' following widespread disorder across the country.

He said: 'No one's been charged with a terrorism offence yet. I'm aware of one case which is actively under consideration.'

Mr Parkinson has warned people not to share malicious or racist communications online - even sharing or retweeting those made by others - as doing so may be construed as a criminal offence.

And he has suggested the publication of a list of immigration firms in far-right groups on Telegram may be considered a terrorism offence.

Mr Parkinson added: 'The fact that it's organised groups that might be motivated by ideological reasons, the fact that they're promoting potentially very serious offences - that's the sort of instance where we might want to consider terrorism charges.'

Convictions are stacking up for those who were involved in some of the earlier riots, which were first sparked by misinformation spread on social media on the identity of the suspect in the Southport killings a week ago.

Cole Stewart, 18, was caught on CCTV 'celebrating' as he hurled bricks at officers in Darlington on Monday August 5 - and has been remanded in custody awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to violent disorder.

As he was arrested the teenager yelled: 'I am a child! I am a child!'

Derek Drummond, 58, was jailed for three years at Liverpool Crown Court for his part in violence in Southport last week, while Declan Geiran and Liam James Riley were sentenced to 30 months and 20 months in prison respectively after also admitting violent disorder following riots in Liverpool city centre.

Commenting on the sentences for the trio, senior district crown prosecutor Jonathan Egan said: 'The three men sentenced today are the tip of the iceberg, and just the start of what will be a very painful process for many who foolishly chose to involve themselves in violent unrest. Many of those involved will be sent to prison for a long time.

&:( Riots are ugly things but of born of Ugly things like being treated with contempt and not being given a say in who they share their country with. Be nice if Muslim protesters got the same penalties English people got! Don't see notes on them being charged.

Rioters to face terror charges, warns top prosecutor

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/06/rioters-to-face-terror-charges-warns-dpp

White Rioters face being charged with terror offences, Britain's top prosecutor has warned. Muslims remain Exempt from Prosecution!

Stephen Parkinson, the director of public prosecutions, said his team would use every legal power to jail those behind the disorder, and that terror legislation was already being used in one case.

More than 400 people have already been arrested in connection with the violence and disorder sweeping Britain. Many more arrests are expected in the coming days.

The comments came as the country braced for another day of unrest, with more than 6,000 specialist riot officers on standby amid warnings that far-Right groups are planning to target at least 39 immigration centres across Britain.

Convicted for Facebook Post: 'Family man', 28, faces jail after urging mob to 'smash the f**k' out of migrant hotel while sat at home with broken heel

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13715079/first-conviction-riot-facebook-posts.html

Excerpt from MSM: An armchair thug who urged far-right yobs to 'smash the f**k' out of a hotel housing asylum seekers was today locked up pending his sentencing.

Jordan Parlour, a 28-year-old sign installer described by his lawyer as a 'family man', is the first man to be charged over Facebook posts relating to the violent disorder across the UK.

Parlour - who was unable to take to the streets for violence because he had broken his heel - instead turned to social media to incite protesters to target the Britannia Hotel in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The hotel, in the Seacroft area of the city and close to Parlour's home, had been attacked with rocks and a window had been broken - though it was not the scene of mass violence.

Stephen Parkinson, the Director of Public Prosecutions has said that terror legislation is already being used in relation to one rioting case meaning other instances of public disorder could be treated similarly.

Yesterday, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper yesterday hit out at 'armchair thugs' such as Tommy Robinson, who have been fanning the flames of tension online.

One man - 19-year-old James Nelson - has already been charged, as he was jailed for two months after pleading guilty to causing criminal damage.

Parlour attempted to stir up racial hatred with posts on Facebook using his mobile phone between August 1 and 5.

One post read: 'Every man and his dog should smash the f**k out of the Britannia Hotel.' In a second, he stated: 'Cos they are over here living the life of Reilly, off the tax you hard working people earn, when it could be put to better use.'

Man, 49, is detained on suspicion of inciting racial hatred

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13721069/armchair-thug-arrested-inciting-racial-hatred-firearm.html

Police have arrested a man suspected of trying to stir up racial hatred on social media following rumours about protests taking place in Birmingham on Monday.

West Midlands Police said the 49-year-old man had been detained on Wednesday evening.

He was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred and possession of a firearm and remains in custody.

The arrest follows investigations into posts on various social media platforms alleged to be inciting racial hatred with an image of a man holding a firearm.

It comes after police began cracking down on 'armchair thugs' who have been fanning the flames of tension on social media, with another man charged on Tuesday for trying to stir up hate on Facebook.

Cumbria Police also arrested two men on suspicion of public order offences - including using threatening words or behaviour intended to stir up religious hatred - relating to online activity - earlier today.

A 41-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested over the alleged posting online of content encouraging violence against police officers and promoting public disorder.

Meanwhile a 40-year-old man also from Carlisle was arrested in connection with the alleged posting of hate-related content online.

Both men are in police custody.

Social media companies warned by Ofcom to remove any online violence which could fuel the UK riots as Elon Musk accused of 'fanning the flames of hate' over civil war claims

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13721193/Social-media-companies-Ofcom-remove-online-violence-hate-fuel-UK-riots.html

Under Ofcom's regulations that pre-date the Online Safety Act, UK-based video-sharing platforms must protect their users from videos likely to incite violence or hatred.

We therefore expect video-sharing platforms to ensure their systems and processes are effective in anticipating and responding to the potential spread of harmful video material stemming from the recent events.

The landmark Online Safety Act passed by the previous government will mean tech giants face multi-million-pound fines if they fail to protect users from illegal content such as messages provoking hatred, disorder or violence.

The Telegraph reported that the Counter Disinformation Unit (CDU), now rebranded as the National Security Online Information Team (NSOIT), has been asked to scour social media despite MPs only a few months ago calling for an independent review of its activities.

Campaigners have expressed concern over the agency playing a central role in the riot response despite outstanding questions over whether it is fit for purpose.

Mr Musk has commented more than 30 times on crime, immigration and the riots in recent days including branding the Prime Minister 'two-tier Keir' over the controversial suggestion that Muslims are given greater protection by police.
