They are Asian, Middle Eastern, Indigenous and all shades of black, brown, red and yellow. In World War 1, they were prevented from volunteering to fight Australia's enemies in war because they were NOT WHITE. If Australia had conscripted them en masse like it did with the White population, their descendants would be bitching today about the racist policies of forced military service/slavery and being ordered to die or kill their black or yellow or Muslim brothers .... But today, it's bitching about racist policies not forcing non-White Australians to fight and die in World War 1. You just cannot win with these eternally bitching victims of nothing at all.

Even worse, those that did manage to successfully volunteer and fight, today's White Australia is supposed to worship them and their descendants as warrior gods that saved a supposedly undeserved White Australia's pasty, spotted arse. If you refuse to embrace the new PC BS, you're denounced by society as a RACIST! And I for one would rather be a racist than a hypocrite or a libtard fool. If they served, then fair enough, give them the same respect deservedly earned by their White peers; but as for their forever bitching descendants, they can take that divine pedestal of their ancestors that modern Australia is supposed to worship at and shove it up their stinking yellow arses ...

Extract: More than 200 Chinese Anzacs who fought bravely for Australia during WWI were almost stopped from enlisting because they were not of "sufficient European origin or descent".

When war broke out, an Act of Parliament in line with the White Australia Policy prevented any man who was not white from signing up to go to war.

Historian Emily Cheah Ah-Qune said some managed to sneak through and go to Gallipoli early in the campaign, but the majority were turned away on sight.

"We do know for a fact that some of the men who tried to enlist were barred from enlisting by medical officers because they were not substantially European enough," she said.

"These days we would call it discrimination," Ms Cheung said.

"But there were no qualms about it; it was written across the earlier applications forms.

"I guess in those days one couldn't really protest against that, but it makes one feel angry that he [her great uncle] was discriminated against."

The delay in Chinese Anzacs joining the AIF probably saved many of their lives.

Ms Cheah Ah-Qune said just 36 of the 218 soldiers she and her colleagues have researched died in battle.

"There are some families who are very hesitant to own up to Chinese heritage even today, quite possibly because of the legacy of the White Australia Policy.

Ms Cheah Ah-Qune is curator of the Chinese Anzacs exhibition at Melbourne's Chinese Museum.
