Extract: An Adelaide man who posted social media comments in support of the Christchurch mosque massacres has failed in a bid to have his access to the internet restored.

Chad Rolf Vinzelberg faced Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday seeking to vary his strict bail conditions to allow him to search for work online.

He came to the attention of police following the Christchurch massacres after posting comments on Facebook.

The court was told on Tuesday that his posts included comments such as 'so happy to see this happen', 'can't wait to see more of this' and 'well done mate'.

The comments prompted police to go to his Smithfield home where they seized weapons including a fake pistol, knives and a medieval mace.

He was subsequently charged with one count of aggravated possessing a firearm without a licence and four counts of using or possessing a prohibited weapon.

Representing himself on Tuesday, the 37-year-old blamed the media for 'making a mountain out of a pile' in relation to his comments.

He told the court he had lost his job following his arrest and was finding it hard to find work without access to the internet.

But magistrate Brett Dixon refused his request to allow him to go online, reminding him that anything that required him to use the internet was prohibited.

At his previous appearance, a lawyer for Vinzelberg told the court that many of the seized weapons were mounted ornamental items that were found in his 'man cave'.

He could buy a $2 SIM card and a phone from the supermarket, sign up with a different name and use the net. How would they know? He could still go to the library and use their's.
