FORTESCUE Metals Group is thinking about boosting its indigenous workforce by picking up sacked Rio Tinto workers from the shattered Gove refinery in the Northern Territory.

But Perth-based Fortescue, which regularly trumpets its indigenous employment credentials, says it will focus on employing indigenous people in the Pilbara before flying in workers from the Northern Territory (NT), Queensland or NSW.

Mining giant Rio Tinto recently decided to close its Gove alumina refinery, leaving some 1100 people out of work and crushing the neighbouring town of Nhulunbuy which has a large indigenous population.

So, It isn't the best person with the skills and experience.. all you gotta do is write "yes" on the Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander on the form and you are in!

Just watch the wheels fall off when they do employ the boongs. Always wanting to "go walk about".
