POLICE have defended the actions of a Gold Coast officer filmed aiming a taser at a man, saying she feared he had a weapon.

A SHORT video was posted on Facebook on Monday and appears to show the moment a female officer prepares to discharge her taser at a heavily tattooed Victorian man.

Gold Coast Inspector Shane Holmes says an investigation found the officer's actions were lawful and reasonable.

"When this gentleman unexpectedly reached into the car, the officers immediately feared for their safety and drew the taser as a precaution," he told News Corp.

"It emerged he was retrieving his ID but the officers were not to know this and their actions were completely appropriate in the circumstances."

Insp Holmes said the man wasn't "just a random Victorian tourist" and was pulled over after officers noticed a gang-type tattoo on the man's neck and cheeks which they say revealed he was a Rebels bikie gang member.

In the footage, viewed more than 1.4 million times, the officer says to the man: "We have legislation down here, if we identify a potential member of a criminal motorcycle gang we have the power to stop, detain and search you".

When the man asks if his neck tattoos were the sole reason for being pulled over, she replies: "Yep, absolutely".

Matters escalate when the man then refuses to hand over his mobile phone and the officer aims her Taser at him.

According to the post on his partner Hayley Van Hostauyen's Facebook page, the pair had just touched down in Queensland for a holiday when the alleged incident happened.

"I have no club gear on at all they simply seen me and my partner Hayley at a red light, noticed a 13 tattooed on my neck and pulled us over," the man wrote.

The Queensland Police Union also said the officer had acted reasonably.

"Police correctly identified the man as a potential member of a criminal motorcycle gang," President Ian Leavers said in a statement.

"I fully support them showing extreme caution when they spoke with him as they would not have been certain of whether he was armed."

He said the Gold Coast region was a hotspot for gang activity as well as a tourist destination and police were right to remain vigilant.

That's how it works these days: If you are White and you don't look like an obvious poofter, you may as well paint a target on yourself. Coppers, club bouncers, female bar managers, niggers and wiggers et cetera ad nauseam ... If they are inferior and they think they can get away with it, they will screw you over just for the hell of it.

Child exploitation and financial crimes have flourished in Queensland because police have focused too much on outlaw bikies, a commission of inquiry has found.

The Queensland Organised Crime Commission of Inquiry found that while members of outlaw motorcycle gangs accounted for 0.5 per cent of all crime in the state, the Queensland Police Service had 200 detectives working in the area.

Whereas at most there were five detectives on the fraud squad and no more than 10 covering the child exploitation taskforce. [more ...]

THE Supreme Court has upheld a barring order on a Hells Angels bikie gang member which banned him from 1400 venues — including hairdressing salons, the airport, a bakery and certain footpaths.

John Peter Stacy was charged with breaching a barring order preventing him from entering hundreds of Adelaide venues by attending the Savvy nightclub on Waymouth St in April 2013.

The court heard Stacy — who police said was a Hells Angels Motorcycle Club member — had been subject to a series of barring orders, including the expansive list of banned premises that was issued December 2012.

Under that order, Stacy was legally obliged to cross any road where there was an outside licensed dining area, or risk arrest.

The order also prevented Stacy from going to Adelaide Airport, several hairdressing salons, a bakery and numerous billiard halls.

Police used Stacy's association with the Hells Angels as a basis for the order, arguing he was involved in two previous altercations, despite him not having been convicted of violent offences involving the gang.

Stacy, 26, was charged with breaching the order but applied for a permanent stay of proceedings, arguing the prosecution amounted to an abuse of process.

His lawyers argued the 55 pages of banned premises constituted an abuse of process because the barring orders issued by police were made "for ulterior purposes and so as to cause vexation and oppression".

Magistrate Sue O'Connor last year ruled in Stacy's favour and stayed the prosecution, on the basis that the orders were "absurdly wide" and "unfair".

However, police appealed against Ms O'Connor's ruling before Supreme Court judge Greg Parker, who found the magistrate had erred in her reasons for granting the permanent stay.


He overturned the permanent stay of proceedings and ordered Stacy again face the charge before another magistrate. [more ...]

I think if the drug " ice" wasn't dealt with mainly biker groups and the negative affect it has on our community the government wouldn't be so hard on bikies.

Since " ice" emerged these greedy buggers have been poisoning our good , white people with this rubbish. Then there is the cost the community pays for treatment, the violence involved.

Man! Bikies aren't heros now and I can't think of one white power group there!

It has to stop! If it means squashing their crime network then so be it! How many families have to either spend $50k for their kid to be treated internally or $30k for the kid to be treated in Thailand?

Whenever there is a criminal "bikie" scare in the media, the police are involved and arrests are usually made. Unlike the other states, New South Wales has what is known as the Middle Eastern Crime Squad. In NSW, the coppers go in, do their job, secure the area and then the Middle Eastern Crime Squad moves in and takes over and arrests are always made.

* Fact: The majority of bikers that are involved in criminal enterprises are of Middle Eastern origin.

* Fact: Bikers of Middle Eastern origin are not bikers. They have no loyalty to the club and will patch-over to another club depending where the profit flows.

* Fact: The so-called "bikie wars" of the last twenty years are crime related due to opposing Middle Eastern crime gangs manipulating the outlaw clubs.

* Fact: When the Middle Eastern criminals eventually succumb to the heat and abandon the outlaw clubs, they will continue their criminal enterprises under other legitimate business enterprises that you will never hear about. Note that this is already happening.

* Fact: Bikers - whether outlaw motorcycle clubs or not - have always been hounded by politicians and police. They are a visible, politically incorrect, easy target that can be used to justify any draconian laws that the government wish to impose. Note the Anti Larrikin Laws of South Australia in the 1960's were ostensibly written to be used against the bikers of the day, but were directed against every teen sitting in a park or going to the local shop for a bottle of milk for mum. Queensland's "Anti-Bikie Laws" are a revamp and reissue of the South Australian laws, and are often directed at groups and individuals with no connection to the proscribed outlaw clubs.

If a propensity for organised crime and associated violence is the justification for "Anti-Bikie Laws" around Australia, why don't we have "Anti-Arab Laws" and "Anti-Asian Laws."

Bikies are just part of the picture

Various governments in Australia have made much of the role of outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMCGs) and their involvement in the methylamphetamine trade.

Tellingly, in this week's report, they rate only two mentions. One is as a part of the wider criminal gang picture; the other as a case study for involvement in the drug trade in a small rural Victorian town.

Nowhere was the critical evidence of their dominance of this particular drug market put forward, despite what many law enforcement agencies have been claiming in recent years. The report outlines the following crime groups as being active in the meth market:

... members of Australian-based outlaw motorcycle gangs, Australian organised crime groups as well as persons of Middle Eastern, Eastern European and West African backgrounds, and Vietnamese, Chinese, Canadian, US and Mexican serious and organised crime groups.

As has been previously shown, while OMCGs no doubt have some involvement in the drug trade, they are not the kingpins. [more ...]

Illicit drugs

The offences laid against bikies account for just 0.8% of total drug supply offences in Queensland. For trafficking in dangerous drugs they account for 5% of offences. For production of dangerous drugs they accounted for only 1.3% of total offences.

Production by Queensland drug laboratories has been exploding for the last five years, yet we never heard that the bikies were the criminal masterminds behind it. Australian Crime Commission (ACC) data indicates that from 2010-11 to 2011-12, Queensland drug laboratory production increased 29%, and Queensland labs accounted for 81% of the national increase in this same period.

Police have indicated that some 193 amphetamine labs had been located in the last six months in Queensland. Unfortunately, the media were not told how many of these busts resulted in the arrest of any bikies. [more ...]
