It appears that judges are jacking up about the new laws ... but beware; they support the laws, but just don't like it when they are handed down specific instructions by the government. If the state Premier of Queensland had shut his mouth, the judge would most probably have complied with the new laws without any hesitation at all.

A QUEENSLAND judge has adjourned a hearing over comments the Premier made about courts granting bail to bikies.

The Director of Public Prosecutions was applying to the Supreme Court for a review of a magistrate's decision to grant an alleged bikie member bail this month.

A 33-year-old Rebels member and a 25-year-old accused gang member were granted bail this month despite tough new laws designed to prevent bikies walking free. Last week Premier Campbell Newman was quoted in a news report saying he was concerned about the decision and wanted the state's judiciary to "start realising what the community wants and act accordingly".

At Wednesday's hearing Judge George Fryberg read Mr Newman's comments aloud and asked the DPP's barrister to clarify whether the comments had been withdrawn. "I say that in great seriousness ... because it's essential in our system that justice be seen to be done," he said. "If I were to have the matter dealt with with these remarks on the record and not withdrawn ... it would be very difficult for members of the public to avoid a conclusion... that the court was bending to the will of the government." Judge Fryberg said he was troubled by the fact the application was effectively brought by a government whose "principle spokesman" had publicly told the court what the outcome should be
. - ''Our courts are in crisis,'' Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said.''The premier doesn't understand the separation of power.''



Seems like the Judges can't stand being "the rubber stamp for the pollies" here! Seems it is freezing the court system with confusion and it seems clear to me the laws are so half baked that they won't last too long before everyone demands they get changed!

he activist group Anonymous says Queensland's anti-bikie laws are 'creeping fascism' and has warned Premier Campbell Newman to 'expect us'.
The group says the new laws, which apply mandatory sentences for members of organisations the government deems as criminal, have gone too far.
The government says the laws are aimed only at criminal bikie gangs and the 'worst of the worst' criminals.
But the Australian branch of Anonymous posted an online video on Thursday saying the laws impinged on the right to freedom from arbitrary detention, to a fair trial before an independent judge and the right to free speech and association.
'In the name of community safety the new legislation makes very large and serious incursions into fundamental human rights,' a masked anonymous member said in the YouTube video.
'The creeping fascism has already begun and the bill is already being used against everyday people like you and me.
'This is a direct attack on our rights. We will not tolerate it. We are Anonymous. We are a legion.
'We do not forgive, we do not forget. Campbell Newman, expect us.'
The video has been viewed more than 64,000 times and the Queensland Police Service said it was aware of the threat.
'As the matter is currently under investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further,' a spokeswoman told AAP.
The government has also declined to comment.

DANIEL Pegoraro was thought to be a dead man walking after the shooting of Bandido boss Toby Mitchell.                                       
In the dark streets of an industrial park in Melton, Mitchell and his Bandido cohorts had arrived to support aligned bikie club, the Diablos, who had been attacked by several gangs, including the Hells Angels.
Whether Daniel was even there when the shots rang out is debatable because no one will talk about the ambush.
But what is not in dispute is Mitchell copped a bullet in the arm and Pegoraro was blamed.
More than 30 rounds were fired at sitting duck Bandidos in a Middle Eastern-style attack considered by police fortunate not to have been Victoria's own version of the 1984 Father's Day Massacre in Milperra, NSW.

Daniel is now a nominee and relatively young member of the Hells Angels.
He is part of a recruiting drive by the Angels, which has also led to an influx of young men of Middle Eastern background.
The injection of muscle and a different culture has led to some Hells Angels founding members leaving the club.
