IS the burning of Australia's flag freedom of expression or an offensive act that should be illegal? Resident conservative street fighter Des Houghton says it should be an offence and those who take part arrested. Belinda Seeney disagrees and says the torching of the flag harms no-one, no matter how much outrage it inspires.

I was offended by the burning of the Australian flag by Aboriginal malcontents.
A country's flag is part of its inner self, its soul. Our flag reminds us who we are and where we came from.
There should be much more respect paid to our nation's totem. Indeed, I think it should be an offence to burn the nation's flag.
