FBI finds arsenal of guns and ammo, a poster of Hitler and Christchurch massacre video at Pittsburgh home of felon, 50, who is 'obsessed with hate-crime violence'

* US Navy veteran Dennis Riggs, from Pittsburgh, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
* FBI raided his home and seized seven firearms, including an AR-15-style rifle, of which six were loaded
* Search of his home turned up pictures and posters of Adolf Hitler and Nazis; knives and daggers; and massive stash of liquor

When FBI agents reviewed the contents of Riggs' phone, they allegedly discovered a video of the 2019 deadly Christchurch, New Zealand, mosque shootings which killed 51, and a photo of white supremacist mass murderer Dylann Roof, who has been convicted of shooting and killing nine black parishioners at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015.

A further search of Riggs' residence turned up posters and photos of Adolf Hitler and other Nazis, as well as multiple knives and daggers, and hundreds of bottles of liquor. 

A photo shared on Riggs' Facebook page in 2017 showed him posing in traditional German lederhosen and a Tyrolean hat in front of a large poster depicting Hitler, with the motto of Nazi Germany - 'one people, one realm, one leader' - printed across the bottom.

'Riggs's Nazi videos, photos and paraphernalia clearly show his obsession with hate-based violence. His cache of firearms clearly shows his capability to act on that obsession,' US Attorney Brady said. 'Our Office is committed to identifying, disrupting and preventing such potential threats to our community.'

A nigger neighbor of Riggs', told CBS Pittsburgh he was not entirely surprised by what happened, based on his interaction with the suspect a few years ago when he allegedly made an inappropriate remark about Davis' African-American race. 

During a detention hearing on Wednesday, Assistant US Attorney Jessica Smolar revealed that Riggs was arrested in 2005 for pulling a gun on a neighbor, hurling racial slurs and declaring that 'he was ridding the Catholic neighborhood of blacks,' reported Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Riggs also allegedly bragged at the time that his nickname among friends was 'Adolf Hitler.'

He was involuntary committed for psychiatric evaluation, after which charges of ethnic intimidation and simple assault were dropped against him.

A public defender representing Riggs argued that all his US Navy veteran client had done with the AR-15-style rifle, which his significant other had purchased on his behalf in 2018, was pose for videos with it.

US Magistrate Judge Lisa Pupo ordered Riggs held in jail pending trial based on evidence presented by federal prosecutors.

If convicted of the charge against him, Riggs could face up to 20 years a prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
