Highlights:

.... More Latino children are living in poverty than children of any other racial or ethnic group, marking the first time in U.S. history that the single largest group of poor children is not Anglo.

....

More than 6.1 million Latino children were living in poverty in 2010, according to the report. Another 5 million non-Hispanic white children were poor, along with 4.4 million black children.

Black children still have a higher rate of poverty - 39 percent, compared with 35 percent for Hispanic children and 12 percent for white children.

.....

Children of immigrants fared especially badly, accounting for more than two-thirds of poor Latino children, or 4.1 million. The other 2 million are children of U.S.-born parents.

But 86 percent of the children whose parents are immigrants were born in the United States, according to the Pew report.
