Not just their jobs but their savings! We've posted other threads here on this subject and I guess the theme would be: Don't jump headlong into something, before you know everything about it. Electric cars were produced over 100 years ago and never caught on. There is just too much space to cover in Australia, USA, Canada etc.

I read that woman's article. In addition to it being costly, the trip was longer due to the charging.
I heard in the US people are vandalising the charging stations to pinch copper from them? If they are all vandalised the economy is going to be at a loss!
Plus China is buying up the Lithium mines, they are going to own it all!
Most just believe what they are being told. Besides bursting into flames all by themselves, the 'environmental awareness' morons are not even aware of what EVs are doing to the environment. Which will be the lessor evil when everyone converts?

It doesn't matter what vehicle you have as the rubber wears off the tyres and winds up in stormwater drains that go to rivers. That plays a role in killing aquatic life there.
A diesel or petrol/gas vehicle has built in engine braking. Take your foot off the throttle/accelerator/gas and the engine begins to slow the vehicle. Even more so with a manual gear change compared to an automatic. Electric vehicles do not have engine braking. Instead you must rely 100% on the brakes. That means the brakes have to be larger, and are used more than any other type of vehicle, and so put out more brake dust. The weight of the 500KG battery makes it worse still. Brake dust is the worst pollutant that derives from modern vehicles.
The more people they want to stick in certain spots the more damage to the environment in general. Anyway seems like they want to sent our jobs abroad by closing industry down due to cheap labour. In turn making our communities "Rust belts".
The next industry "Chindia"! Allowing rich "Chindians" entry to compete with you for :- Housing, parking, road traffic access.A general nuisance you can't intergrate with.
